Prosecutors won't be posted at polls
Sun Sentinel ^ | September 24, 2008 | Associated Press

The Justice Department said Tuesday it will not station criminal prrosecutors at the polls on Election Day after civil rights groups said minority voters who are expected to turn out in unprecedented numbers because of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama could be intimidated. The move reverses a decades-long practice that put prosecutors on the lookout for voter fraud, ballot access violations and other polling problems.

I couldn't find this posted previously using search. Guaranteed fraud on election day. Obama's got illegal foreign donations, voter drives in Ohio mosques, Acorn registering the homeless. What's with The Justice Department?

“...minority voters who are expected to turn out in unprecedented numbers because of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama could be intimidated.”

####

Minorities, eh?. What are they, not Americans? As far as I know, it will be 100% Americans voting in the upcoming Presidential election. No “minorities”.

And if these “minorities” are honest, law-abiding citizens, exactly why are they “intimidated” by justice officials?

The "Justice Department" (and the President) are supposed to uphold and 'defend' our Constitution!

Sounds to me it's the Justice Department that's the one suffering from a dose of 'intimidation'.

That's what happens when the country has a 45 year history of allowing RIOTS to burn themselves out 4

And a nation cowed by PC correctness--quotas etc etc

Worst thing is that a lot of those that bitch the most about these conditions vote for the democrats

We need names on this one.

When "everybody" is responsible, nobody is responsible.

Does anyone know a contact in the Justice Department to identify where the buck stops?

This is beyond absurd.

Do you think normal bank customers would be intimidated if armed guards were posted at every bank site?
Wait. They already do!
OMG!

Why would a polling place be any different than a bank? Posting guards at banks may intimidate would-be bank robbers... What shall we do about that?

What judge agreed with this absurdity?

This is a huge problem and it's invisible.

Ever examined the precinct workers selection?
Non criminals absolutely can't "volunteer" to serve at locations where the criminal element is likely to "vote."
Any naive one who insists can't be assured that his vehicle won't be trashed, or his life threatened.

You want to talk "intimidation?"

Criminal investigators and armed law enforcement is all the protection honest (non-ACORN) precinct workers have!

For however long Obama is in public life, any criticism of him or his supporters, or any enforcement of laws that might not be to his benefit, will be deemed racist.

It is the Democrats who are stifling racial progress by keeping this nonsense going.

And I don't think race-baitinf will work on A-Jad to bring him to heel. If indeed that's what Obama even wants to begin with!

The Dems are the group thats into stealing elections. They almost got away with it when AlGore tried to steal the Presidency from George Bush.

I think Obama is a puppet on a string. He’s too stupid to be in control. The fool can’t even speak without a teleprompter. We must look at those he associates with and who have propped him up.

Soros and Obama have been buddies for a long time.

Like Karl marx said
we cannot use violence to push the view we have to get into positions of power, teachers, layers judges etc

They started in the 60’s and will not stop until they complete their goal
if we do not have any guts any more they will win

More information here

"In light of questions we have been asked regarding who will serve as election monitors, I want to inform the public that no criminal prosecutors will be utilized as election monitors on Election Day this year," acting Assistant Attorney General Grace Chung Becker said in a statement.

She added: "This decision was made as a precaution and is not the result of any instance of intimidation or complaint regarding any specific incident."

Becker and Attorney General Michael Mukasey met two weeks ago with about 40 representatives from voter access watchdogs, hoping to assure them that having a smooth Nov. 4 election is a top Justice Department priority. A heavy minority turnout is expected for Obama, who is black.

Although federal prosecutors have in past elections focused on preventing voter fraud — in other words, making sure voters are eligible to vote — Becker pledged to ensure ballot access for as many people as possible. She said the Justice Department will station hundreds of federal monitors around the country to make sure voters aren't unfairly kept from the polls. The monitors won't include prosecutors this year.

So there you have it. The Justice Department is no longer in the election integrity business. It is now in the "ensuring ballot access" business.

Tell them that The Justice Department (and the President) are supposed to uphold and defend our Constitution!

That there is a much greater threat of vote fraud than there is of some fuzzy claims of intimidation.

This is a disgrace!
