Now I understand why the President’s desk in the Oval Office is always completely clean, has nothing on it (except in one pic, Obama’s feet), and why the Oval Office appears to be used for nothing more than photo-ops.

He has the right to all levels of classification by the fact that he as President is head of the executive branch of government. The executive branch of government manages the classification process, be it military (DOD), Intel Community, DOE (Nuclear) or federal legal (FBI, USSS,etc.) clearances. As President he is in charge!
I am sorry but that is the way it is.
He was elected by the constitutional process and therefore he has these inherent accesses that come with the office.
Anyone who makes any other claim is misinformed or simply lying.

Associating with known terrorists and felons, including ones that are merely crooks. Long association with a member of the Communist Party USA, when that organization advocated the violent overthrow of the US. Refusal to submit a certified copy of his birth certificate would kill his chances for a clearance.
A plethora of foreign relatives, living in countries where much of the population is hostile to the US.
The latter would deny him, probably, the special clearance needed for the White House support activity, event to service the latrines on Air Force One.
