but you can't fool all the people all the time

Only have to fool them until the election is over. ;-)

Facts don’t matter to Democrats/liberals/radicals/anarchists.

To them, the only thing that matters is winning elections and forcing their social/political/economic changes on society, by any means necessary.

Do facts matter? Or is Obama's rhetoric and the media's spin enough to make facts irrelevant?

Unfortunately, the answers to those questions are no and yes.

Society in the USA in 2008 for the most part thinks with their emotions, and sees pain, and decides with what they FEEL in their heart. Reason, logic and clear thought has been tossed to the wind. Market advertising shows this trend to dominate in religion, politics and economics. So....Palin is the HEART of the Republican party right now, and she is the cash cow that just might get McCain elected. He did well picking her. She is the REAL McCoy...authentic and people sense her heart is in the right place, this might lead them to trust her and they would vote....for the Team of Mavericks.

The “bailout crisis” is not why McCain’s numbers slipped. The bailout is unpopular, and the candidates have basically the same position on it. Obama got a boost because Democrats always get a boost when the economy sounds weak because Democrats are always saying the economy is weak, even when it’s strong.

Obama has the magic formula: promise 95% of people no new taxes or promise them a tax reduction. This allows the 95% to steal everything from the 5%.

Oh wait. the top 2 1/2 will be able to hide their income offshore or in trusts. This includes most members of the Senate, Hollywood liberals, many wealthy members of Congress, etc.

So, this is the class Communist war on the middle class, abetted by the wealthy.

Obama has declared war on the American taxpayer and he is winning!

I hate to tell you this but FACTS mean very little to Democrats and are completely irrelevant to anyone on the LEFT.

How can Hussein promise 95% of the people tax reduction when only 70% pay tax?

Does this mean he will give money to those unfairly left out of his tax reduction proposal?

Sowell's conclusion:

Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported.

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

Is anyone at Camp McCain listening?

“Incumbent parties always struggle in an election”

That’s true, but it doesn’t explain specifically why McCain’s numbers fell after the Palin boost. It does probably explain why Obama was ahead in the first place.

What is the % for people paying less taxes for McCain?

Sowell is a killer. These last two paragraphs kick out the jams:

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

Who in Congress defended Franklin Raines? Liberal Democrats, including Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus, at least one of whom referred to the "lynching" of Raines, as if it was racist to hold him to the same standard as white CEOs.

Sowell nails it yet again.

A majority of Americans simply do not get how very, very stupid the democrats are on the economy (and everything else). It's going to take a lot of pain to awaken them, and it may not be in time.

Dr. Sowell echoes my sentiments. They may well vote into office the very people who are most responsible. The thought makes me cringe.
