PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08

Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3

While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

Obama started with "who would have not stopped the Holocaust?" He then moved to genocide in Rwanda and Darfur saying that we can't be everywhere all the time.

Was Obama saying that he'd protect the Jews over the Blacks? < /sarc >

Obama cannot give an actual answer to a question. Every time he speaks I come here and catch up on comments. He reminds me of all the ‘adult’ voices in the Peanuts cartoons. ‘Wha wa wa waa.’

I had low expectations for McCain on this debate, that said he is doing fine. Barry just isn’t believable and lacks empathy. An important quality for winning moonbats. I still think McCain will be POTUS in January.

McCain is much more astute than 0bama on national security issues, matters not to the 0bama disciples though.

The presidential debate commission should do the following to make these debates “DEBATES”

They should take the top twelve issues currently most on the mind of the people and hold 2 debates a week with one issue discussed back and forth throughout the entire debate so these guys can retort each other and not be cut short.

These would then be shorter than these hour and half long commitments to endure and you get more information.

Then you take PBS which everybody can get on their tv and mandate that in order to continue recieving public funds that they rebroadcast these several times in between issue debates so that they can be more widely viewed.

When listening to McCain I realize how frustrated I would be with a McCain presidency...not as frustrated as O, that’s for sure, but he’d be driving me nuts...I’m still voting for him though.

As for people thinking health care is a right...that is what some people think, and he’s just pandering.

But why doesn’t McCain scream from the rooftop...THERE WILL BE NO MONEY TO PAY FOR ALL THESE THINGS HE’S PROMISING!!!!

Where are the honest politicians who will stand up and tell it like it is. With this economic mess, somebody needs to step forward and say it like it is, we’re broke and things are going to get tough.

McCain making a very good argument for when and how to use our military. Doesn’t like the idea of “peace keepers”.

OK, this cnn graphic is fixed. It is definitely tilted to Obama. They can be talking about the same things and agreeing and Obama’s line is always higher on the few times they agree.
