You do have to factor in though where the race is being fought. The fact that we are having to run ads, spend money, and make visits in my state of North Carolina is a bad thing. This is a state that is never in contention this late. Same with Virgina. That is looking to be a tough fight at this point what with the states changing demographics. At the moment the states that both are contesting hard tend to be states that went red last time and a lot of those are big states. Don’t look to the big polls. Follow the McCain money.

“Follow the McCain money”

Okay, I will. McCain just opened 71 offices in California.

I'm not sure. McCain has $66 million, and just today got $84 million in fed funds. So up to this point, I kind of think McCain has been playing footsie with his ads. There is also a story out from McCain insiders today saying their polls tell them they have a shot at IA, MN, and WI. Now, I don't believe that for a minute---but based on your theory, since they are spending money there, Obama must be in trouble.

And while NC has "never been in contention," every election season I HEAR that it is "in contention."
