Time's Beinart: Republicans Hate Obama For His Kenyan Father, it's 'Racism'
publiusforum.com ^ | 10/11/08 | Warner Todd Huston

This furious beating of the racism drum by the left shows how worried they are that Barack Obama might lose this election. Time Magazine's Peter Beinart once again charges "racism" against anyone that won't support Barack Obama. But, Beinart adds a twist to his accusation. It isn't just his race that is being held against him, in Beinart's eyes it is the fact that Obama has "foreign roots" that causes "whites" to mistrust him. But, like everyone blinded by the flash of the race card he doesn't see that it isn't racism that causes moderates and conservatives to shy from Obama. No, it isn't his relative blackness that people are against, it's his redness. Beinart misunderstands the simple fact that it's Obama's unAmerican ideals makes him not "American enough" to get the support of millions of Americans.

As the Time headline asks "is he American enough," Beinart delves into what he sees as the "Racist" claim that Barack's foreign father is offputting to "white" Americans. He posits that this is the main reason why people cannot warm to Obama. Then Beinart claims that the strategy of the McCain campaign is one of "using race to make Obama seem anti-American." Beinart says these "attacks" are hurting Obama in the polls with "working-class whites." He also seems to say that the whole campaign is filled with code words such as questioning what "kind of person" he is. These all culminate into a racist attack that undermines Obama.

Beinart thinks he knows why it works so well against Obama, too...

The right is NOT concerned with his blackness, it is concerned with his redness (his communism)!

Peter Beinhart is an extreme left-winger, he used to work for the New Republic, laugh at his absurd partisanship.

I’m getting really sick of this.

I’m voting against Obama because his world view and beliefs are 180 degrees from mine.

Black, white, gay, straight, tall, short. Doesn’t matter. He’s a lefty and I can’t support his policies.

Gulp! I'm so ashamed. I'll go out and volunteer for his campaign this afternoon. Anything to assuage my guilt.

I hate him because the is a pro-infanticide, gay marriage proponent, leftist who’s real history has been covered up by the drive-by media types.

If that happens, the same MSM will blame the public for failing to really believe and fully embrace Obama's great plan; racially motivated no doubt, by wanting a black man to fail; with no mention that socialism always fails.

The race-baiting issue excuses Hussein for being an America-hating, racist, marxist muslim. There may turn out to be little difference between the Husseins most americans are familiar with.

I am certainly concerned, among many other things, that he is not an American. He is not an American in his ideology, he is not an American in his sense of his own identity, and finally he appears not to be an American literally.

Therefore he is neither morally suitable nor legally eligible to be president.

As for the first, his sense of identity, his autobiography clearly shows that he sees his identity as a choice between his white grandmother, who worked hard to earn the money to bring him up and educate him after he was abandoned by his drunken bigamist father and his selfish Marxist mother. He chose to identify with his drunken, polygamous, wife-beating, child-abandoning father, and is still quite prepared to throw the loving white grandmother who raised him under the bus.

Where is she, by the way? Where has he hidden her for the past year? Is she under house arrest?

He is also not American ideologically. His primary loyalties appear to be Communist and Muslim—much like his own Kenyan grandfather and his Cousin Odinga, who is both a violent Marxist and a violent Muslim, ready and eager to burn down churches filled with Christian women and children in order to force his way into power.

Finally, he is not American literally. Was he born in America? We don’t know. Didn’t he give up his American citizenship when he became a Muslim Indonesian? That is on the record. Has he ever done the paperwork to reclaim his American citizenship after he left Indonesia?

Where is his birth certificate? Why has he stonewalled for almost a year after it became a public issue, refusing to release it? Why has he posted a forged COLB on his website? Why is he fighting a lawsuit demanding that he make his real birth records public?

No, he is in every way NOT an American—not in his sense of his own identity, not in his religion and ideology, and apparently not legally. Why else has he refused to release his official birth records?

None of these objections to his running for the most important job on earth have anything to do with his race.

Yeah, Herman Cain must be racist too.

Maybe it’s because his ancestors are from a different part of Africa. (that was sarcasm)

I don’t want the U.S.A. to become another Kenya or Uganda, so I’m voting for the white guy...otherwise, it could turn into another hootoo versus tootsie. I don’t know which I am, but I don’t want to be hacked to death or my house burned down by Dictator/Strongman Barak Hussein Obama’s Odinga tribe.

Partly, of course, this is a response to Obama's unusual biography: his African Muslim father, his foreign-sounding name, his childhood outside the continental U.S.

Not to mention that Senator Obama has recently admitted to dual citizenship with Kenya on his campaign website http://fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate: "Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”

If dual citizenship with at least one country --- and he has never shown what his visa or citizenship status was in Indonesia where he lived as a child --- isn't enough to make this Peter Beinart realize that indeed Senator "Coke-head" Obama is a remarkably different candidate than any previous, then it is a reflection on Mr. Beinart's lack of cognitive acuity, not ours.

Could Peter Beinart be talking about himself, and his racism? What Peter is saying makes no sense to me. I do not like Obama because he is too green; he thinks it is okay to murder babies; he thinks gay marriage is okay; he wants to extend charity to the entire world (even though his brother lives in a shack). Of course BHO wants to do it with your money, not his.

Peter, you need to take a time out and reflect on your own inner feelings on race and prejudice, methinks.

But McCain tells me that Obama is “a good man” despite his surrogates calling me a racist for the last year; therefore I have no reason to be angry.

>> Time’s Beinart: Republicans Hate Obama For His Kenyan Father, it’s ‘Racism’

Wrong!

According to Beinhart’s reasoning, people will vote for Obama because he is Black, which also qualifies for racism and affirmative action.

It’s really, really a shame when the pundits fan the flames of racism unconcerned about the anxiety and unrest they inevitably stir up. These ‘racist’ concerns are NEVER RAISED when it involves Black politicians on the Right. And there would be more Black politicians on the Right if the other side would allow it.

How would the media treat Obama if he were a Conservative supporting the cause of Pro Life, lower taxes, the Iraq war, gun rights, etc?
