Well, you might tell your friend to calm down. We aren’t at that point yet.

The MSM had a responsibility to report these brown shirt tactics and did not.

I know, been posting here for quite a while. It's just comments like the following:

The Right better get used to crying censorship. Of course, the Left will say they are only fighting “hate speech”.

You can forget about the First and Second Amendments. They’ll be history.

Rush may have to move somewhere, maybe the Caribbean and broadcast from there.

These and many others I've read over the last few weeks as we watch McCain be McCain and Obama gain the upper hand. And while McCain might still pull this out, if we're honest, it ain't lookin to good right now. So, there may very well come a time where the left is feeling its oats and start to truly dismantle the Bill of Rights. At that point it will be put up. We'd better not be unprepared. And as much as I'd HATE for it to ever come to a real fight, I can't ignore that we're in perilous times right now.

So, I'm not in despair, just curious about our conservative "movement".

Of course they didn’t. They are shallow thinkers who have been duped.

The conservative movement had better get its act together and work to

1. take back Congress in 2 years
2. to educate people regarding conservative principles and WHY they are so effective.

I’ll bet Rush is looking into buying his own island right now. If he isn’t he should be.

“The question has to be asked: The U.S. Military. Unlike any other military in the world. Not subjects too any dictator or his congress...but to the Constitution. Many have served and sacrificed. Many still serve. In all branches. Are they going to allow what they fought for be undone just like that? I’m talking from generals/admirals on down to the ground-pounders. Just lay down their weapons? Just give up to a liberal Marxist dictator and liberal Marxist congress? I have my doubts. They didn’t serve, sacrifice blood, sweat and tears only to let it all be for nothing and surrender.

I agree that some sort of civil war would break out with our military on our side. “

Paging General James Mattoon Scott: please pick up the nearest red courtesy phone! (with apologies to Rod Serling, who wrote “Seven Days In May”)

I tend to agree with your post.

It seems strange to say so, but I would not feel anywhere near the dangers I sense in the wake of an Obama administration (with absolute control of Congress and the democrats), as I would with an upcoming Hillary administration.

The Clintons were just in it for them, and let the good times roll.
Obama wants to remake the world. And allah be merciful upon those who dare block his way.

If Obama wins, who can predict what he will demand from the Congress? And who will oppose him? Any democrat that might will be branded a “racist”, or worse. He will rule the party through absolute intimidation. The attempts by the Obammunists to bully individuals and the media that we’re seeing now is but a preview of what’s to come.

I fear that Obama in concert with the ‘rat Congress will actually attempt to begin dismantling the American capitalist-based system, not covertly, but overtly. And, along with that, they will take steps to try to permanently “bend the culture” to their liking as well.

They will certainly begin to dismantle America’s military and defense structures. Obama has said as much in video excerpts that were posted right here on FreeRepublic.

Unless Israel decides to strike Iran between November 4th and January 20th (a time frame which I predicted a while back), it looks like Iran will almost certainly succeed in building the bomb during the Obama administration. Will they use it, or allow their proxies to use it?

If they do, all hell could break lose, for neither Obama nor the democrats will do anything to stop them.

What if Obama and the democrats “dumb down” and dismantle enough of our intelligence infrastructure to enable an Iranian “proxy nuke” to be smuggled into the USA (perhaps through the southern border)? How would they respond?
Would they respond at all?

At that point - faced with a real national crisis and with a president that seems to side more with the values of Islam than with us, and with a democratic Congress that no longer believes in self-defense - I think a situation would be ripe for “extra Constitutional” action. I am NOT advocating such action, understand that. But a downward spiral of circumstances might - just might - make that Seven Days In May scenario seem more plausible than one feels comfortable considering.

Just sayin’...

- John

I've heard this mantra since my days working on Capitol Hill in the 1980’s; I've been around for a while.

Ok, we take back congress in 2 years:
1. Do you have any idea how badly we've lost control of the congress. We're defending 23 seats in the senate and likely will lose 7. And the House, I worked there when we only had 175 members and we got killed. For those of you who are Newt haters, it wasn't until he showed up and blew some wind in our sails and got rid of ole Bob Michael's did we have a shot at regaining the majority. Boehner is a pretty good guy, but he ain't no Newt.

2. “Educate people regarding conservative principles...” Gosh, this one is a real winner. As if I haven't. But in case you're not aware, conservative “principles” aren't, shall we say, in vogue right now. After all, they require a bit of self-control, self-discipline and personal responsibility, not high on the average Americans list (see 3 Trillion of consumer debt).

It's pollyanish to think we're gonna “take back congress” in two years or reeducate the populace to our way of thinking. We'd better prepare for a fight because we're gonna have one on our hands in the not to distant future.

There have been men and women much smarter and greater than me trying to hold of the tidal wave of liberalism for a long long time. They've done there best but have ground has been ceded.

Evidence?

1. 10 TRILLION dollars of federal debt. Yep, our conservative principles are really winning the day on this issue.

2. 43 MILLION dead babies, our compelling life arguments are ruling here.

3. 50% divorce rate, stunning the number of people embracing the conservative family values principles.

4. and on and on.

Like I said, I've been in this battle for many years and our principles are not dominate, you might think they are, but the evidence points in a different direction. Oh, wait, I forgot, we did win on welfare reform.

The economic disaster eventually might cause some of that self-discipline to return. As for the rest, I will put my faith in God and some really hard work.

I’ve been around for awhile too....and I’ve discovered that God has a way of making lemonade out of lemons. ;-)

Care to speculate on what action would be taken with the Internet?

That's easy, pass some version of the "Net Neutrality" law that gives big price breaks to large corporations that can be controlled (e.g. Google), while making it unaffordable for the little guy to maintain any serious Internet presence.

Interesting....that’s the opposite of what the article reported. However, it IS a possibility.

I agree. There will be a time in the very near future, under obama rule. that we will have to decide whether we sheepishly hand over our guns, or they take them from our cold dead hands.
