DENVER (AP) - Denver Roman Catholic Archbishop Charles Chaput labeled Barack Obama the "most committed" abortion-rights candidate from a major party in 35 years while accusing a Catholic Obama ally and other Democratic-friendly Catholic groups of doing a "disservice to the church."
Chaput, one of the nation's most politically outspoken Catholic prelates, delivered the remarks Friday night at a dinner of a Catholic women's group.
His comments were among the sharpest in a debate over abortion and Catholic political responsibility in a campaign in which Catholics represent a key swing vote.
While Chaput has won praise from traditionalist Catholics for stressing opposition to abortion as a foundational voting issue, voices on the Catholic left have sought to apply church teachings to war, poverty, the environment and other issues.

Its about time that someone in the Church spoke up against Obama. Many Catholic bishops and theologians have spoken out on this topic. I have pinged Salvation who can provide you with the list. In the meantime,d where are the voices of the Protestand and Jewish leaders?

"Is that the priest who wrote an article saying people confess to him that they are not voting for 0bama like they think it is a sin? Pretty sad that such hero worship and the crafting of nothing more than an image of a candidate would be at play so much in an American election."
I don't know.

"To suggest as some Catholics do that Senator Obama is this year's 'real' pro-life candidate requires a peculiar kind of self-hypnosis, or moral confusion, or worse," Chaput said according to his prepared remarks, titled "Little Murders."
. . .
While applauding Kmiec's past record, Chaput said: "I think his activism for Senator Barack Obama, and the work of Democratic-friendly groups like Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, have done a disservice to the church, confused the natural priorities of Catholic social teaching, undermined the progress pro-lifers have made, and provided an excuse for some Catholics to abandon the abortion issue instead of fighting within their parties and at the ballot box to protect the unborn."

The good Archbishop should also advise Catholic clergy of the grave error it would be to support Obama. Unfortunately many liberal Catholics and far too many Catholic clergy will vote for Obama because his socialism fits their ideas of “social justice”.

I don’t know what church you attend Mass but I don’t know of ANY Catholic Church that “advices” who to vote for.
“liberal Catholics?”
I think you mean CINO’s...or who who we call “cafeteria Catholics.”
“Unfortunately many liberal Catholics and far too many Catholic clergy will vote for Obama?”
And those Catholics will have to go to confession.
Father John Corapi on pro-abortion “Catholics”...”they should have been excommunicated a long along!”

He nails it. The whole Obama movement and phenomenon is based on hypnosis and mind control.

Last night at Mass, our Priest said.."I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, I would never do that, but you better go INTO the Voting Booth as a CHRISTIAN and Vote like a CHRISTIAN....there is no LINE to cross"!!! WTG, Father!!! I have NEVER heard a Priest say ANYTHING about VOTING!! Pelosi opened up a hornet's nest! Thanks, Nan! Today's Gospel was about Giving to Cesar what was Cesar's and Giving to God what was God's.
Our Monsignor reminded us that the Civil authority had power over our mortal bodies that God had power over our eternal state and that we had better remember that when we went into the booth to pull the lever.
Now he was a lot more eloquent that I was but he pulled no punches.
I love this man dearly and pray that God gives a long life, because we need this priest to stick around a long time.

Our priest, thank God, has been very outspoken about right to life issues, and especially now, in relation to voting. In fact, the very liberal mayor of our town, a big Obama supporter, made a rare appearance at Mass (he is nominally Catholic) 2 weeks ago, when Father’s homily was about that very issue. The mayor hasn’t been seen in church since, and was reported to have asked a parishioner the next day why the priest was so fixated on abortion!

Yesterday, our archdiocesan administrator, Bishop Bob Hermann, released a letter that was posted here at FR. This morning at Mass at the Cathedral he read it. Bishop Hermann never reads his sermons. Never. But he did this time and it was more powerful hearing him actually SAY it than reading the words.
With Chaput speaking so forcefully, it seems that there is some sort of agreement out there that the bishops are going to be more forceful on this issue. I support it wholeheartedly. This is a black and white, good vs. evil topic. Plain and simple. For many of us there is no compromise.
Thank you, your excellencies. Thank you.

Here is a list of bishops who spoke out about Pelosi. Obviously it applies to Biden and other CINOS. But it also applies to Obamanation. The voiciferous echoes of the bishops in this election will not be unnoticed!
Updated: American Bishops who have spoken against Pelosi
Here is the complete list of American bishops who have responded to Nancy Pelosi's comments so far:

Notes:
-
Previous #23 has been removed. Bishop Joseph Gossman of Raleigh, NC is actually the bishop emeritus, and the new bishop, Michael Burbidge has not, to my knowledge, made a personal statement.
-
Previous #16 has also been removed, it was an erroneous duplication of current #13.
-
#26 was added September 10th, although he published his column September 6th

Looks to me like a case of people being seduced by the glamor of evil.
