This is much more important than Powell’s endorsement.

Great news! I never thought I would see this — SoS and ACORN must have had an impact.

As for Colin Powell — a black endorsing someone who claims to be black (6.25%) because he is the first black to run for President is not news. Powell just threw in with the socialist. Have to remember that he was part of the Bush team from the early 80’s so this should not surprise anyone. Waiting for Condi Rice next whose mentor was Madelyn Albright’s Father.

Anyone thinking the Bush team wants McCain/Palin should think again.

Hey everybody! We have three weeks to make sure we aren’t stuck with the likes of Obama for 4 to 8 years. I am on MoveOn’s mailing list as well as several pro-Obama organizations and I can tell you they are in a frenzy to get out the vote for their guy and saturate the public with their pro-Obama message. Are we willing to put forth equal or greater effort?
Just think if Obama were to serve 8 years — that would insure an Obama Supreme Court. Abortion “rights” will be enshrined and every effort will be made to chip away at gun-owner’s rights. And our foreign plicy? At least Bill Clinton’s appointments looked to the EU for edvice on how they should rule on our Constitutional matters — who knows, maybe Odinga might have some influence on the direction of an Obama court.
It’s now or never — how many letters to the editor can you write? How many internet news forums in swing states can you sign up for and share information you get here at Free Republic? HOw many people can you mail that same information to? How many people can you get out to vote?
The time to rest will be after the elction is over. And remember, do you want to have to listen to Barak Hussein Obama for 4 to 8 years? Want to see his portrat hanging at your children’s school? If not you have to act now.

As someone who lives in the Columbus vicinity, you could have knocked me over with a feather after reading this endorsement.

“Sure. The ACORN state capital’s rag throws a bone to Republicans.”

I was thinking the same thing. If EVERY paper endorsed Obama, then even the sheeple might notice how far in the tank the media is for Obama.

Looks like this paper is taking one for the team.

Spin this to help throw into question: “Which candidate is REALLY more like Bush?” I mean if the man who was a main player in promoting going to Iraq is endorsing the man who is running on his stance against the very same thing, what, one may ask, is going on here?

Good news is right, but there is even more good stuff in the same paper. Illegal voters, or just getting out the vote? I'll leave it to you to post a separate thread if you like. It probably deserves one.

The Dispatch hasn’t endorsed a Democrat Presidential nominee since LBJ (and I’m not completely confident about that).

Is that a surprise? Did the PD endorse Reagan in ‘80 or ‘84?

The plain dealer gives zero free ads all the time. A couple of weeks ago they ran a smiling pic of zero, with them telling him that the best way to reach people was through an ad in the plain dealer. I had a guy call me trying to get me to renew my subscription, which I cancelled ten years ago. I told him his paper was waaaay to left wing for me. His response? “I know what you mean.” I was surprised!

No surprise here. Columbus tends to be a little more conservative than most major cities. And the Columbus Dispatch is a little more right-leaning than most major newspapers.
