Was Obama really baptized? No.

Read this thread carefully

Read what the Sun-Times reporter has to say about Obama's "conversion" without any baptism. Being he was a Muslim when young he needs a baptism not a mere profession of faith and a self serving one in my opinion

I would try first to argue that if one of the candidates is ineligible, then the other candidates were the only true candidates running for the presidency: McCain, Bahr, Baldwin, McKinny.

The winner take all delegates would then go to McCain SINCE he was the only legitimate candidate.

Here is my criterion for judging this: how many Muslims have condemned Obama for leaving Islam? How many are issuing death threats? All I hear of are endorsements, and middle eastern fund raisers. They WANT him to win. Would they want someone to win who they truly believe has left Islam for Christianity? No. Of course, if you look at the teachings and policies of Obama’s church, they are not biblical. Rev. Wright specifically rejects- on video- a Jesus who will save white people. They also endorse Louis Farrakhan and other Muslims. It appears to be a politically correct facade, teaching discontent and violence- specifically Black violence, and including Black Muslim violence- under the cover of a Christian church.

Are you God, or are you just acting in His stead?

Sadly, Christianity has been dumbed down to the point where millions of Americans do not believe that adult baptism is necessary.

John McCain happens to be one of them, BTW.

Of McCain, Biden, Obama, and Palin, only Palin has been baptized, as described by the New Testament. This issue isn't going anywhere.

READ THIS CAREFULLY...

“but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

Give it a break. Be concerned with his radical socialist agenda.

The evangelical view is that baptism is not necessary for salvation. But it IS necessary for one to be a disciple.

The main point (at least from the evangelical view) is that baptism is PUBLIC. It’s purpose is to make a public symbolic identification with Christ. A “private” or “secret baptism” would be an oxymoron.

Chicago-based journalist, broadcaster and critic Andy Martin, when asked about Obama's baptism, wrote, "I have never been able to obtain any evidence that he was baptized, although I asked for those records."

If Obama is baptized, there should be a record of it. If he is not baptized, I do not consider him a Christian. That is the historic and objective line of demarcation, distinguishing Christians and non-Christians, going back to the very beginning of the Christian church.

I was baptized in the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit on September 10, 1953.

BTW, I am a Lutheran pastor.

So, no baptism. Probably no first communion, no confirmation, although a partial confession. Well, he ain’t Catholic, that’s for sure.

Mathew 7:20
Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

0bama supports an ideology that revels in, and encourages, defiance of all of the commands of God.

Should I question his salvation? No, not my place.

Claiming you are a Christian for political expedience is exactly what is meant by “using the Lord’s name in vain”.

Yes, his views are of the antichrist. Read 1 John 4, specifically vs 5-6.

I wrote most of those words. That item was produced by editing together six different news items, plus the correspondence from the three reporters mentioned.

This is my request for info:

Request for info: If anyone, anywhere, can validate Obama’s baptism, please contact me via feedback or email with a source, link or other documentation.

The other question that could be asked is, “What is the teaching of the UCC regarding Baptism?”

Martin Luther's Large Catechism (1530)

Part Fourth: Of Baptism

"We have now finished the three chief parts of the common Christian doctrine. Besides these we have yet to speak of our two Sacraments instituted by Christ, of which also every Christian ought to have at least an ordinary, brief instruction, because without them there can be no Christian; although, alas! hitherto no instruction concerning them has been given. But, in the first place, we take up Baptism, by which we are first received into the Christian Church.

However, in order that it may be readily understood we will treat of it in an orderly manner, and keep only to that which it is necessary for us to know. For how it is to be maintained and defended against heretics and sects we will commend to the learned.

In the first place, we must above all things know well the words upon which Baptism is founded, and to which everything refers that is to be said on the subject, namely, where the Lord Christ speaks in the last chapter of Matthew, v. 19: Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Likewise in St. Mark, the last chapter, v. 16: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

In these words you must note, in the first place, that here stand God's commandment and institution, lest we doubt that Baptism is divine, not devised nor invented by men. For as truly as I can say, No man has spun the Ten Commandments, the Creed, and the Lord's Prayer out of his head, but they are revealed and given by God Himself, so also I can boast that Baptism is no human trifle, but instituted by God Himself..."
