I have previously posted about Barack Obama's involvement in the socialist led Illinois New Party here, here and here.
Below are scans from New Party News Spring 1996.
They prove that Barack Obama was a member of the Illinois New Party and was endorsed by them in his 1996 Illinois State Senate race.
Front page-scanned from a photocopy
Front page close up-scanned from a photocopy
Front page ultra close up-scanned from a photocopy
Note that the text refers to Barack Obama as a New Party member, while Willie Delgado is only "NP endorsed"
The New Party clearly drew a distinction. Obama was on on the wrong side of the dividing line.
Page 2, scanned from a photocopy.
Page 2 closeup-scanned from the original.
The New Party was the creation of the quasi-Marxist Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the radical community organisation ACORN. The Communist Party splinter group Committees of Correspondence (CoC) was also involved.
I quote from Chicago DSA's New Ground of September/October 1995
The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia's District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer's vacant seat...Although ACORN and SEIU Local 880 were the harbingers of the NP there was a strong presence of CoC and DSA (15% DSA)... Four political candidates were "there" seeking NP support."
Here is part of an undated New Party document probably from 1995. Scanned from a photocopy.
It lists approximately one hundred"community leaders, organizers, unionists, retirees, scholars, artists, parents, students, doctors, writers and other activists who are building the NP."
Those listed include;
Elaine Bernard-A Labour academic and prominent DSA member.
Noam Chomsky-Linguist and activist, member of both DSA and CoC.
Barbara Ehrenreich-Author, activist and DSA leader. Early this year Ehrenreich was one of the four founders of Progressives for Obama
Bill Fletcher-Former Maoist, a labour activist and leading DSA member. Early this year Fletcher was one of the four founders of Progressives for Obama
Maude Hurd-Longtime ACORN president. Awarded for her work by Boston DSA. ACORN is heavily involved in the Obama campaign.
Manning Marable-A founder of DSA and a leader of CoC. Regarded as a driving force within the New Party. Now an Obama supporter.
Frances Fox Piven-A senior DSA member. Regarded as the brains behind ACORN. Piven is now an endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.
Raphael Pizzaro-New York labour activist and former CPUSA member. An official of both CoC and DSA.
Gloria Steinem-Author and senior DSA member An Obama supporter and volunteer.
Cornel West-Academic and prominent DSA member. West now serves as an advisor to the Obama campaign.
Quentin Young-Chicago doctor, prominent DSA member. Quentin Young is a neighbour, friend and supporter of Barack Obama. he attended the famous 1995 meeting in the home of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn where Barack Obama was introduced by Alice Palmer as the chosen successor to her Illinois State Senate seat.
Carl Davidson, former Chicago CoC National Committee member, New Party activist, associate of Barack Obama and friend of Bill Ayers, now serves as Progressives for Obama webmaster.
The originals of these documents are held in the Washington DC area. I personally viewed them when I visited Washington in May 2008.
If any journalist, media organisation or publisher would like to view the original documents they may email Trevor Loudon, to be considered-address is on the side bar under New Zeal Research Associates.
I urge my US readers to forward this post to any journalist you consider may have the courage or ability to use them to good effect.
Bloggers-feel free to copy the images posted above.
PS For a superb article on the radical networks around Obama and the US government, go here
OBAMA WAS OPENLY MARXIST AS RECENTLY AS 1996.
you need to send this on to BORe to defend himself from those view women........after he called obama a socialist on their show. seems from this Obama HIMSELF called himself a socialist.
MSM: WILL YOU GIVE US A REPORT PLEASE? DO YOUR JOB!
Related thread. I’ll from there to here too.

Good grief. Nice work.
THIS MUST BE SEEN BY LIMBAUGH AND HIS STAFF [respectively Hannity, Savage, etc].
I shouldn’t be shocked, yet I am. MSM is still not doing their job. But, as far as this being damaging to 0bama, I think it would just get him more votes from the fringe.
intentionaly = intentionally

This is a great story if anyone would ever pick it up.
Send everywhere!
Bombard Drudge with this.
When hell freezes over they will.
NOICE!!!!!!!!!!
Great sleuthing, dear Sir. You win the 1,000 internets to you!
Spread this FAR & WIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me give this a big RED bump....magritte
We're not worried about the fringe - we're concentrated on the undecideds who don't make up their minds until the day of the election.
They're only just now starting to pay attention to the thing.
We have to keep hammering them with everything we have: Ayers bombing, Wright & black liberation theology, New Party openly marxist, etc etc etc.
I’m sure Limbaugh has seen this- the NRO blog reported on this a couple of weeks ago. I think it was the hotline blog that broke it first.
WOW!!! Send this to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other talk show hosts.
...
Will the last honest journalist please turn off the lights.
Why doesn’t someone put out an ad on that?
FRiend, I’m confident that the New Media is watching the New Party issue. Not to fear. We are closing in.
“These victories prove that democracy with a small ‘d’ can work,” said Obama.
Man, it’s even got his picture. There aren’t enough smoking gun pictures in the world to do this justice. And yet it will be ignored.
Ads take time. New Party information is pretty new [please pardon the pun].
I keep forgetting we are still going after the wishy-washy vote. Seriously how can anyone even think 0bama could be a good President?
He also stated that he was a proponent of “economic justice” in his NAACP speech. (This also has the component of distributive justice,)
Thanks !
BUMP TO THE TOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I zapped it to Drudge.......but, because it is a blog, we shall see if he runs with it.
Keep bumping this thread.
When they & their staffs come to FR, they glance at "Breaking News" because that's all they have time for.
Again: Keep bumping this thread.
Also, bump the John Galt thread about how the Obama campaign doesn't bother to match the person's name with the name on the credit card:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2113089/postsThese are the two biggest stories of the day so far.
This is a great report — but it is also rather depressing: Where has the McCain Campaign been? Where has the Republican Party Opposition Research been? Why hasn’t this gotten placed in the campaign advertising?
This is a very complex “narrative” and it is very late for this to get understood by virtually any segment of the population.
What is the matter with our media that they could “miss” something as basic and damning as this?
Thanks for posting.

WOW! and double WOW.
This could be the Post of the Year......

Nice to see a real scan of that update. I’ve been trying for weeks to get Rush and Hannity to mention this...perhaps photogrphic evidence will help :)
Here are some web links to various archived New Party and DSA pages:
What is the New Party?
The New Party believes that the social, economic, and political progress of the United States requires a democratic revolution in America the return of power to the people. Our basic purpose reflected both in our own governance and in our aspirations for the nation is to make that revolution happen. http://web.archive.org/web/20010204044200/www.newparty.org/about_the_np.html
They describe themselves as Social Democrats:
Weve already said that we see the NP as an explicitly progressive and democratic organization. This would give it an ideology not unlike that of European social democratic parties, or the New Democratic Party of Canada. http://www.nathannewman.org/EDIN/.election/np/bnm.html
Democratic Socialism is a form of socialism brought about via evolutionary rather than revolutionary methods, but it is Socialism nonetheless. see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_socialism
The New Party chapter in Chicago was dominated by ACORN early on: But the nature of Chicago ACORN is secondary to the inevitable dynamics of the situation. As the single 800 pound gorilla in the Chicago New Party, it doesnt leave a lot of room for newcomers to participate except on ACORNs terms. This will make it difficult for the New Party to have a life apart from ACORN. http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng38.html#anchor1869108
Later the Democratic Socialists of America took a larger roll: ...the NP is a true Rainbow Coalition consisting of both young and aged African-Americans, Hispanics and Caucasians. Although ACORN and SEIU Local 880 were the harbingers of the NP there was a strong presence of CoC and DSA (15% DSA). http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng42.html#anchor792932
So, back to Obama. He sought membership and endorsement from the New Party in 1996 and had to sign a contract: (from the Democratic Socialists of America newsletter)
About 50 activists attended the Chicago New Party membership meeting in July. The purpose of the meeting was to update members on local activities and to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates. The NP is being very active in organization building and politics. There are 300 members in Chicago. In order to build an organizational and financial base the NP is sponsoring house parties. Locally it has been successful both fiscally and in building a grassroots base. Nationwide it has resulted in 1000 people committed to monthly contributions. The NPs political strategy is to support progressive candidates in elections only if they have a concrete chance to win. This has resulted in a winning ratio of 77 of 110 elections. Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.
The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcias District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmers vacant seat. http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng42.html#anchor792932
That he received the endorsement and became a New Party member is confirmed by the New Party itself:
Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).
http://web.archive.org/web/20010306031216/www.newparty.org/up9610.html
Of further interest is that Obama received endorsments from the Chicago DSA on multiple occasions and spoke at their forum on economic insecurity as a panel member.
Over three hundred people attended the first of two Town Meetings on Economic Insecurity on February 25 in Ida Noyes Hall at the University of Chicago. Entitled Employment and Survival in Urban America, the meeting was sponsored by the UofC DSA Youth Section, Chicago DSA and University Democrats. The panelists were Toni Preckwinkle, Alderman of Chicagos 4th Ward; Barack Obama, candidate for the 13th Illinois Senate District; Professor William Julius Wilson, Center for the Study of Urban Inequality at the University of Chicago; Professor Michael Dawson, University of Chicago; and Professor Joseph Schwartz, Temple University and a member of DSAs National Political Committee.
http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng45.html
Later the DSA praised Obamas remarks as well within the mainstream of European social democracy. http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng69.html#anchor540108
Conclusion: Obama sought endorsement and membership in an explicitly Democratic Socialist group, signed on the dotted line with them and continued to promote socialistic ideas throughout his Chicago political career.
Posting in epic thread!
Please Senator McCain and Governor Palin! Run with this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is a summary of ACORN’s ties to the New Party:
Early documents of the New Party spell out their goals to unify the fragmented socialist/progressive left into a third party that would eventually dominate the Democratic Party and set US policy.
“The goal of the NP is to establish a significant progressive presence in American politics — eventually a presence significant enough to determine the policies of the United States.” http://www.nathannewman.org/EDIN/.election/np/bnm.html
“Local progressives, suspected of having a secret political organization known as “The Green Machine,” so-named because most of its supposed members belong to local environmental groups, have often been accused of wanting to take over governmental bodies by conservative Democrats and Republicans. The paranoid fears may soon become reality the NP aims to be the institution that can organize progressives and, well, help them take over.” http://web.archive.org/web/19970513191711/www.jeonet.com/icon/backs/1995/06-01-95/Cover.htm
ACORN and the local SEIUs were key in organizing the various New Party branches and dominated them. The Chicago Democratic Socialists of America pointed this out in their news-letter “New Ground”:
“And ACORN has not had the reputation for being interested in coalition politics- until recently and, happily, not just within the New Party. In Chicago, ACORN has been working with the National Training and Information Center on housing issues, and Equip for Equality in challenging Illinois’ inaction on “Motor Voter” registration. ACORN has also become a major participant in Chicago Jobs with Justice.
But the nature of Chicago ACORN is secondary to the inevitable dynamics of the situation. As the single 800 pound gorilla in the Chicago New Party, it doesn’t leave a lot of room for newcomers to participate except on ACORN’s terms. This will make it difficult for the New Party to have a life apart from ACORN. The element that seems to be present in Milwaukee but absent in Chicago is organized labor.” http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng38.html#anchor1869108
ACORN also dominated the New Party in Little Rock, New Jersey and New York, as well as building up another political group called the Working Families Party. Read the following archived ACORN report which details how ACORN used the New Party and the Working Families Party to spearhead their various housing initiatives.

I agree about the seriousness. But these images have been kicking around for weeks. Crickets.
It doesn’t matter to the brain dead—he Baracks their World. They feel good.
Here’s an October 8, 2008 blog post about this info:
http://politicallydrunk.blogspot.com/2008/10/web-archives-confirm-barack-obama-was.html
The comments say “send this info to Drudge, McCain, etc” so apparently no one is going to run with this. The article claims that the New Party denied that Obama was a member back in the summer, but that was before this newletter was found. But apparently Obama has got the party leaders saying what he wants him to say- that he wasn’t a member. I expect that’s how he’s covering this up- saying “hey, the leaders say I wasn’t a member, that newletter was just mistaken.”
Obama was voicing clearly Marxist views as recently as his visit a week or so ago to Joe the Plumber’s street.
LOL!

We are the media now - Free Republic, the blogs, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, etc etc etc.
WE have to get the story out.
So bump it EVERYWHERE.
So far the Obama campaign’s respose has been that Obama ran as a Democrat in that campaign.
Of course he did. The New Party was a fusion party that generally ran its candidates as Democrats. Also important is that Obama had to sign a contract with them in order to get their endorsement.
