People for the American Way's full-page NYT ad said a bunch of lies cooked up by "right-wing operatives" are intent on keeping "low-income and African-Americans from voting." ACORN's own lawyer says relationships between 174 affiliates may have violated multiple federal laws.....plus possible illegal use of charitable dollars for political purposes, improper money transfers and conflicts......The report also addresses $1 million embezzled by the brother of ACORN's founder..... ACORN is under investigation in a dozen states in connection with voter-registration schemes. ACORN's history, dating to the '80s, includes trespassing, illegal seizure of private property, physical harassment, intimidation and outright extortion.

That's what they admit to...we don't know yet what the actual impact will be.
but but but, Obama said he was going to register 5 to 10 million new voters and managed less than 10%, same old bullshit. He’s going to have a tough time turning these people out. Early voting in Ohio has evidenced that, only 4500 in a week.

REALTIME REPORT In Tennessee--one of 35 early-voting states--vanloads of non-English-speaking Mexicans with no ID's, proof of residency, or voter registrations are arriving to vote. The vanload of non-English speaking illegals carried a bilingual woman to act as interpreter.
She informed election personnel that she would accompany the illegal voters into the booth, read the ballot for them, and insure that their vote was cast for the candidate of their choice.
The Election Commission decided the individuals would NOT be allowed to vote. Since they were unable to speak, understand, or read English, they could not possibly be citizens, and therefore were not qualified to vote. Moreover, the illegals were unable to even request the assistance of a translator themselves. The Administrator of Elections, also refused to allow any of the individuals to vote.
However, the illegals seemed to be coached well, are knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the US election system, despite their inability to speak English, and would not back down.
A higher election authority was called who then allowed the non-English-speaking individuals to vote via the bilingual interpreter (despite lack of ID's and unfamiliarity with the English language). In that state, it was concluded that the only possible remedy would be for the state Republican Party to file suit in Federal court.
It was noted that even if a Tennessee court should decide the votes were illegal, there is no mechanism for withdrawing them in that state. These were not "provisional ballots." Once cast, they are inviolate.
ACTION Should this happen in your precincts---and your protests are over-ridden:
(1) demand the interpreter show for HIS/HER ID and/or voting credentials.
(2) Write down (or photograph the van's license plate with your cell phone). Any information you collect can be used for subsequent investigations and vote challenges.
Of course, Obama was not involved with ACORN (wink, wink). They were just someone in the neighborhood.
All I can say is, with a neighborhood containing ACORN, Ayres, Rezko and Wright -— that is some neighborhood.
And another 400,000 or so were not new registrations, but changes of address, name, etc.
Their net gain is only about 400,000 or so.
And the other difference is, do you recall any stories of Acorn registrations being rejected PRIOR to other elections?
The publicity is curtailing the fraud, instead of allowing to pass with a wink or a shrug, or recoiling under accusations of "racism".
And *THAT's* why Obama is so dejected this campaign:
he needs the PUMA votes
PLUS the Reagan Democrats
PLUS the voter fraud.
And he's not going to get them.

You make a great point, registering to vote is NOT the same as actually going to the polls to vote. How many of these people, who were basically bribed, are actually going to make the effort to go and wait on line at the polling place, I say none.
They don't need to actually vote. Just getting their names on the rolls increases the number of registered voters so that the ballot boxes can be stuffed with that many extra ballots.

Just think. The next time you or anyone you know buys a house they will be supporting ACORN because of the funding provision in the bailout bill.
Obama will not win. He’s getting only 80% of the Dem base, while Gore got 92% and Kerry got 89%, and both lost. People crossing party lines to vote are Dems voting McCain, not the other way around (with the exception of Powell and David Brooks). Obama is done. McCain wins 54-46.
