It’s beyond incredible, isn’t it? Let's pretend for a moment the Bush Administration knows what it is doing, I know it's a stretch, but let's play along.

Maybe, just maybe, they know the Iranian regime is about to collapse and Bush is planning ahead to help the transition from an Ayatollah run theocracy to a secularist government.

Restoring the diplomatic relations with Iran would be a smart move to strategically place people in Iran to help support the new government stop any other Islamic fundamental terror groups from attempting to take power

This just gives the mullahs more comfort. Very unclear and inconsistant Bush policy. He's being dictated to, or is tired of standing resolute. It's obvious.
