Palin's 'going rogue,' McCain aide says
CNN ^ | October 25, 2008

CNN) -- With 10 days until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense, they are spilling out in public, sources say. Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

A Palin associate, however, said the candidate is simply trying to "bust free" of what she believes was a damaging and mismanaged roll-out.

McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

The MSM is trying to get the conservatives PO’ed at McCain so they’ll stay home instead of put McCain/Palin over the top on election day. Those bastards are pulling out all the tricks....

Some of this article is cut and pasted from a Politico article of yesterday. yet it has the same feature - all anonymous sources except for one that hasn’t been involved in the campaign for six months. Truly pathetic.

Hey CNN! Take it from me, all of us conservatives are about to go rogue! It’s all we can do to hold back now!

Geez, I agree with her. I've already voted and I'm sick of getting those damn things. They usually come during my noontime nap. However, instead of simply hanging up, I did listen to one today from Hank Williams, Jr. He's cool.

true.

anyone whose seen McCain with Palin knows he envies her for going out there and saying the things he’s to afraid to. He doesn’t see it as a weakness at all, but a strength and he knows she’s his ticket to the WH if he wins.

Look at the interviews they’ve done together. McCain is always more comfortable and speaks about the things we want him to say when she is with him.

This is a fabricated story with unidentified sourcing in Politico this morning. CNN is simply re-reporting on the original unfounded story.

McCain and Palin are both doing their best to win this thing and in their own ways, which I may or may not agree with, but don’t buy this phoney baloney shuck and jive from sources like Politico and CNN.

Remember that for the MSM, it’s always about the narrative. They’re trying to paint the picture of a dying campaign starting to destroy itself.

Why would any legitimate McCain staffer talk to CNN? I’m throwing a 15 yard BS flag.

wishful thinking.

They have more evidence that biden and obama are not running parallel, but they wouldn’t dare focus too long on that.

“She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone,” said this McCain adviser.

Diva? Alaskan Barracuda Hockey Mom, more like. Her political instincts seem pretty good to me, but they may frighten the Washington-infected people...they don't know how to relate to a real American.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

There is absolute certainty in my mind that this quote is made up by a typical left wing liberal. It's very typical of how they discredit their adversaries.

“McCain advisors” “McCain sources” Sounds like they have enemies within. I say to these ‘un-named’: leave the campaign and go work for Obama if you don’t like hearing what we want and need to hear from Sarah Palin!!! McCain needs to take a lesson and get rid of anyone he finds messing with Sarah and drop kick them out the door!

Look, CNN and Politico are trying to engage in the divide and conquer strategy which as old as the hills. By using the word ‘rogue’ they are trying to dilute Sarah’s message by claiming it is not the same message that the McCain campaign wants to send to the American people. Also they want to claim that the McCain campaign is now completely disorganized with the so-called infighting, implying that Sarah and John are constantly at each other’s throat and uncooperative and finally not worthy of anybody’s vote. Claptrap, balderdash. Sarah is a very smart lady; she knows what she can say and what she can’t. John knows that he wouldn’t be where is in the polls (IBD/TIPP and Battleground-3-4 points) without Sarah’s presence on the campaign trail. This is completely a manufactured story. Any tension on the campaign trail is a product of the race itself-the stakes are very high.

The media got it all wrong, yet again. The campaign sources were saying that Palin had gone to (using) rouge, not gone rogue.

Sheesh!
