Do You Feel The Fear? [Riots, civil war and insurection]

That is spreading insidiously through this country. It was/is a subject to be whispered or commented on in blogs off the main track...no more! That subject is riots, civil war, insurection. A year ago it would have been unthinkable that it would have been discussed or even considered possible. But now it is being talked about, by everyday Americans and on the blogs and even by journalists of all stripes. The fear that no matter what the outcome of the upcoming election, there will be violence. And that violence could escalate into riots, and the riots into general insurection and thus civil war. I have heard it discussed among young and old.

The reasons for this fear are many, but it has been spread by the rancor of this election. By the division of the two camps of thought, and by the media and the Obama camp with their constant charges of racism. These charges which are mostly unsubstantiated and/or false have raised the anger level of those hoping to see a black as president. I would like to see a black man or woman as president. I can undertand their desire for this. But the racism charges which have been a constant refrain throughout this campaign has done nothing more than garantee violence, no matter what the outcome of this election. It has divided this country in ways that may never be healed.

So we face, as a country, an uncertain future. With the economy in taters, and the troubling divide among our countrymen and those wishing to see the downfall of this nation, the future is grey but is a time for all Americans to stand together as one.

I have traced my family on both sides back to the original 13 states. My family has served in our nations military all the way back to the civil war and before. My family helped build this country. My great grandfather was one of the original settlers in the area where I now live. He came here back in the mid 1870's as a prospector and then became a farmer. My grandparents were farmers, and I am a small farmer. My father spent his life in the military. Both of my parents sacrificed for his career serving our country. It wasnt an easy life for them, or for us, their children. Being shuffled from town to town, country to country, never knowing where you might be the following year. You form attachments to other military through necessity because they know the life. But you grow up knowing that those who serve in our military do so regardless of the personal cost. That goes for both the active duty person and the spouse as well. Because BOTH are serving their country, each in their own way.

I myself served in the army for 12 years. It was not an easy life. And it has cost me. But I served proudly, and would do so again if able. And if I cannot serve actively I will serve behind the scenes. I love this country, I love the land. And I will not stand by and see this country destroyed by opportunists and enemies of America. I will stand as one with all our citizens who love this country. For those that have threatened to riot and destroy if you do not get your way, I say do so at your own risk. You will find AMERICANS standing shoulder to shoulder to protect our country, our way of life, our cities and towns, our families, our fellow Americans. It matters not what your faith is, or your color, man or woman. We are Americans. And will stand as such against all threats.
