Aerosmith’s Joe Perry walks this way with John McCain
Boston Herald ^ | 10/30/08 | Dave Wedge

Posted on 10/30/2008 2:32:42 AM PDT by GQuagmire

Aerosmith has generally left the politics to bands like U2 and the Dixie Chicks, but axeman Joe Perry says national security and economic woes have prompted him to split from the rest of the entertainment world and throw his support behind John McCain.

He always seemed like the most normal member of the band. I remember watching him get interviewed with his family on the Westminster Dog Show not too long ago. I’m not big on celebrity endorsements, but it does make me smile to hear this.

Way to go JOE!

This makes my day FINALLY a Rock-n-Roll Icon with the temerity & integrity to come out and support John McCain.

I have met Joe, his wife, and his son Aaron. They are the epitome of family. They travel together on their own private bus when Aerosmith tours. Joe has a famous guitar, The Billie Guitar, which has a face of a beautiful blonde painted on it, it happens to be his wife, Billie.

If you want to thank Joe, I'm thinking the best way would be to go to over to the Joe Perry Rocks Your World Hot Sauce website, there is a contact us email, that goes to Aaron Perry, who runs the business for Joe, and I you really want to thank him, purchase a bottle of Hot Sauce and say thanks.

“I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” he told the Herald. “My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you’ll get what you’re working for. I guess I’m living proof of that.”

Perry has long been one of my favorite rock guitarists (I’ve been playing rock guitar for decades). Great technique, great tone, killer slide.....he has it all.

Really glad to see he’s one of us.

Joe has a line of hot sauces...another ‘small businessman’ that is very nervous about an Obama presidency.

For that, we can forgive him the atrocity that is the "Boneyard" Joe Perry Les Paul.

"Good for Joe."

No Big surprise here, one of Joe's (and Steve Tyler's) good Friends is Ted Nugent.

They like to go shooting guns and making big noises with guitars!

In 2004, Steve Perry offered up Aerosmith up to play at Kerry’s inaguration party. The rest of the band said “no way”. Perry was the only Kerry supporter in the band.
