When you make a career of post-modern irony and art swipes lifted from propaganda works by despots around the world (Communist AND Nazi), you have to be careful when you decide to enter the realm of politics and NOT taint your movement with the same stink of despotism.
Surprised she uses guns in her pieces. Obama is anti-gun. Aren’t all good liberals anti-gun? She’s got frickin roses coming out of the barrels. Like the explosion of the bullet out of the barrel looks like the red rose of communism or some crap like that.
Liberals love guns when they force people to obey liberal masters.
Too bad even a person with a limited art education, but a vast history education can spot the communist overtones of his work.

Normally I’d say just ignore it since this is a known art style that has been used in lots of things. But in this case there are too many ties and “coincidences” to ignore.
A 'known art style' where, in communist China? Russia? Cuba? The guy is a communist propagandist.

The “Obey” series was funny and striking; but now I realize how derivative he is. It’s all chrysanthemum prints and low-saturation colors combined with black/white litho.

Nice catch...O-ba-ma and Fairey have thievery in common.
But the point is that this guy who is Obama’s official icon artist IS a communist propagandist. Anything else may be an interesting ‘aside’ but takes nothing away from this fact.
I think that adds a nice dash of irony to the subject, don't you? Though, on the other hand, communists DO believe in "collective ownership," now don't they?
