Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.
"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

Considering Barack’s attack on coal fired plants, no one with electric heat or heat pumps is going to be able to afford much heating.
Those in the Northwest who think hydro-power will save them forget about Barack’s promise to spread the wealth. Those with “Unfair” electrical rates will have them adjusted upward.

If you had a republican that came out and said he was for higher taxes, was for global warming laws, was anti-gun, against coal, against nuke, against oil, against fishing and hunts, thus against guns, for abortion, pulling out of Iraq, supported terrorists bombers, supported terrorist countries, wanted massive higher taxes, wanted a national gestapo police force, would take your 401k plan away from you and give it to the government to FUND THE ENTIRE SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM WHICH IS GOING BANKRUPT, lies about his associations with known domestic terrorists, has a racist’s preacher, has a racist’s like Calypso Louie calling him the Messiah, made spread the wealth statements, against all types of oil drilling anywhere in the USA, was for much higher gas taxes, JUST how many votes would that republican receive FROM republicans and conservatives? He would not have even made it past the primaries. Yet, here we sit, on the brink of a person with absolutely no qualifications whatsoever to be president, with no experience of accomplishing one damned thing in his life, with no knowledge of how to run a government, can be this close to power in this Republic. Lord, forgive me, but I simply cannot tolerate or stand 50% of my fellow citizens anymore. I am for shipping them to Cuba.
We’ll see if there are energy shortages thanks to his disastrous policies. Then if the federal government makes some move to mandate how high or low we can set temperatures in our homes we’ll see how fast people who voted for him are screaming for him to be impeached.
And as far as SUVs go, it makes me laugh every time I see one with an 0bama/biden sticker on them. These drivers are unaware the Democrat party looks at them as the enemy because they are helping cause global warming?? Unreal.
