Redskins lost to Steelers on MNF (Does this help GOP/Mac)

Posted on 11/04/2008 3:55:57 AM PST by DocT111

I was listening to Rush yesterday and he said that if the Washington Redskins win their game before an election (I can't remember if it was the MNF or a Sunday game), the incumbents win in the election...

Since Pittsburgh defeated Washington, how does this bode for Mac?

Just curious...

We need more threads like this to get us by until the polls close.

It's GOOD! As Morris and others say as related to undecideds, Obama is considered the incumbent.

Well. after Roethlisberger was injured and didn’t return for the 2nd half, it meant that no matter which team won, a black quarterback was going to lose.

Sounds like a great portent of things to come.

The only thing that really determines the winner of an election is that more people vote for that person than the opponent(s).

The Redskins legend, the Weekly Reader polls, whether a ghekko lizard is facing left or right on your windowsill when you wake up on Election Day (OK, I made that one up) is just fun superstitious stuff.

All that matters on Election Day is who gets the most votes.

Go McCain/Palin!

I don't put much stock in these kinds of predictions. It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Obama is the incumbant. As Rove says, this election is a referendum on Obama.

Feel better now?

I’ve heard that theory too.

But I also heard one over the weekend (FNC or ESPN?) that every time the Lakers play in the NBA finals, the Republican candidate wins - going all the way back to Eisenhower.

"According to Rush (and the legend),... "

Therein lies your problem. He may be right 98.3% of the time, but he, and the "legend" were proven wrong in the 2004 election.

You don't have your own crystal ball? This is an election not a seance. I would add this would be a clean win if only real votes counted if it were not for ACORN. I will hold my trust in Americans loving their country as long as I can.

They showed this on MNF, the key thing was the popular vote is what they were talking about. Obama could win the popular vote and still lose the election.

Before the game they showed two fans, the steeler fan had an elephant hat, the skins fan a donkey. :)

Funny Berman explained to both canidates that their teams were currently in first place in their respective divisions. Now had the cardinals and bears played...THEN we’d have something! ;)

Inj 2004, W broke two “curses”: (a) the ‘Skins-incumbent linkage, and (b) the winning streak for the taller presidential candidate.
