Useless Thoughts, Observances, Musings, etc. from a Minnesota Freeper (Vanity Post!)
11/04/08

Posted on 11/04/2008 7:51:37 AM PST by MplsSteve

Yes, yes, I know it's a vanity post! To those who are offended, please stop reading. For the rest of you, here it is...

1. The freeway overpasses into downtown Minneapolis were littered with Obamaniac sycophants waving large signs AND American flags! I rolled down my window and extended a middle finger several times as well as yelled out "Fu**ing Losers!". Yes, it was senseless and immature - and no, I'm not sorry.

2. I got a robo-call last night from Ashwin Madia's (aka Ashtray Madhatter's) campaign. He's a Dem running in the 3rd Congressional District. I live in the 5th Congressional District. I really hope that's a good sign of how "well" their GOTV effort is doing.

3. I heard an interview of a black woman in Miami who said that once Obama is elected, she'll no longer have to worry about filling her gas tank or paying her mortgage. She said "If I help him, he'll help me". I fear for our nation when I hear voters talk like that.

4. The Messiah will win this state by turning out incredibly massive numbers in the core cities or Minneapolis/St Paul as well as the first-ring suburbs - which are getting bluer and bluer with each passing election cycle. Those numbers will offset McCain's numbers in the suburbs and exurbs.

5. Last Friday, a woman in the elevator confessed that she cried when she listened to Obamaniac's infomercial. Of course, she is only 22 and is 5 months pregnant - so I'll write it off to the estrogen.

Well, that's about all that comes to mind. Feel free to submit your useless thoughts, observances and jsings too...

It is very likely that McCain takes Minn or WI. so we don't need your pessimism.

Yeah, Dems will go pretty low. Over the past week, I have seen many signs offering college students free food if they get out and vote. (Democratic of course) Although the signs didn’t explicitly state which party, the “VOTE FOR THE CHANGE WE NEED” kinda gave it away. IMO, bribing college students with free food is pretty low.

Just voted here in CA. Very crowded, very organized..... 10 minutes. Of course my Prez vote doesn’t count, but I was happy to vote for our initiatives and down ballot candidates.

Thanks for sharing. I’m down here in Texas and the election’s already over here. It’s great to hear about what’s happening in the battleground states, and MN is definitely one of them, regardless of what the media reports.

What part of CA are you in? There's Props 4 and 8. I think they will pass. We need some good news tonight.

I voted on Thursday, so I’m just sitting here wondering if I should pull my car into the backyard to avoid vandalism later...

I live in Rio Grande Valley Texas however I received an email forward from my Mother this morning. It was a Pro McCain/Palin email. The shocking thing was that she forwarded it to me from her relitives in Minnesota. They are all Hard core union Democrats. Don’t know that they will vote McCain but they damned sure won’t vote Obama.

Not to mention perfectly justified!
(and therapeutic also, I bet.)
Keep up the good fight!

I had the same experience. My husband and I arrived a few minutes before the polls opened and stood in line with about 100 other people. We were in and out in 10 minutes. Of course we live in a lovely rural area that is made up of informed, responsible voters. We all knew the drill and we all knew how we were voting on the various propositions and how to work the equipment.

On a side note, a received an email from a friend who is a fairly well known musician wishing that I "get cancer" for voting yes on Prop 8. It was sent at 3 AM and he was probably drunk but I wrote back and told him I may need to reconsider my opinion of him if an apology was not forthcoming.

Barb from Hopkins here. I'm predicting that Hennepin county has a 120% voter turn out. And there's a calmness of my anxiety ridden election jitters. My gut is saying that everything will be fine. and then I smile a greatful smile.

Please don't do such things. It makes the rest of us look stupid by association.

Conservatives in the Twin Cities have earned the right to be pessimistic :) I’m a pastor in an inner city evangelical church in St. Paul, and I can assure you that Obama will do well here. I’m pretty much surrounded.

But I do have HOPE that this will be the year! I think Palin will do much better on the iron range than your typical Republican. I’m cautiously optimistic about Minnesota (or incautiously pessimistic?).

Now I’m going to walk over to my neighbor’s house (the OTHER conservative family in St. Paul) and accompany the woman to the polls. They are new to this neighborhood and haven’t registered yet. I have to vouch for her that she lives in the neighborhood. (If they give us any trouble, and McCain loses, we plan to cry “voter suppression” and trash the capitol city tonight. Not sure how much damage two families can do, though. Hard to even turn over a small car with only two guys and a couple of slightly built women...)

I think Coleman wins by 3-4 points.

That’s what a lot of others are saying too.

I hope we’re right!
