On the Ground In Battleground OH

First, I don't have numbers. This is just a report based on phone contacts with other people at "red" polling places and with Montgomery County (Dayton) GOP. (Kerry won this county by 2% in 04)

1) ALL the red precincts were extraordinarily heavy until about noon. Some finally calmed down. Turnout was at very, very high levels. 3x the wait time of 2004.

County GOP says we're hearing this from all our red areas.

2) Better news: many of the Dem and African-American precincts coming in way low. They are voted out through early voting.

3) HEARING---this is hearsay from people on the ground in Warren (deep, deep red, which gave Bush his win in 04)---that Warren turnout is "massive."

I felt like I was walking into an Obama campaign headquarters when I went to the polling place here in Ohio. There were tables set up just outside the entrance with Obama signs, despite Ohio Law which prohibits campaign material within 100 feet of the polling entrance. I filed a complaint with the Board of Elections.

Just returned from voting with my kids. My little, rural village voting precinct in Morrow County, OH was the busiest that I have ever seen in 8 years of living here. We normally vote very Republican, but there are more Obama signs than I care to see around the landscape here this year.

Now back to watching the news and cleaning (i.e. playing) with my new Marlin 1894 that I bought last night.

Where’s Salida? I’m newish to MO (4 years).

Not sure about CO, and I’ve been bedding a rifle and have not had time to dig around. My perception prior to today is that there are a lot of PUMA types who would normally vote Dem in CO. Guess we’ll see!

LOL!!! Except for the Republicans of Cleveland. For years Cleveland votes used to trump our votes in SW Ohio. I am enjoying this one from far away in OK.

Well....since the incompetent Dimrats have gotten a hold of Cleveland (after voinovich cleaned up the city and started a renaisance) and turned it back into the Rust Belt again there have been benefits of killing the jobs in area.....it means more prosperous Republicans areas of the state finally get to say "Stick it!".......

File Cleveland under the heading, "Those who fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it"......Right now we seem to be in (pete and repeat) mode....
