The Treatment of Bush Has Been a Disgrace ~ What must our enemies be thinking? (former Kerry lawyer)
Wall Street Journal ^ | 11-5-08 | Jeffrey Scott Shapiro

Posted on 11/05/2008 12:02:40 AM PST by STARWISE

Earlier this year, 12,000 people in San Francisco signed a petition in support of a proposition on a local ballot to rename an Oceanside sewage plant after George W. Bush.

The proposition is only one example of the classless disrespect many Americans have shown the president.

According to recent Gallup polls, the president's average approval rating is below 30% -- down from his 90% approval in the wake of 9/11. Mr. Bush has endured relentless attacks from the left while facing abandonment from the right.

This is the price Mr. Bush is paying for trying to work with both Democrats and Republicans. During his 2004 victory speech, the president reached out to voters who supported his opponent, John Kerry, and said, "Today, I want to speak to every person who voted for my opponent. To make this nation stronger and better, I will need your support, and I will work to earn it. I will do all I can do to deserve your trust."

Those bipartisan efforts have been met with crushing resistance from both political parties.

I think you're right, he is a decent man.

Its true he can't articulate a conservative message

Actually, he chose not to articulate one, which was his big problem. He chose to go with "the new tone" the whole time his opposition was savaging him. He chose to not respond. Unfortunately, he left a vacuum in political discourse by this choice, one which the political left drove multiple convoys of 18 wheelers into.

I don't hate him, just have disdain for where he has left us as a country.

Though I have often disagreed with President Bush on domestic issues, and have been downright angry with him at times over them, I have held him in highest esteem in all other areas. He is a good man who took on an untenable responsibility at a terrifying time in our history. We have not been attacked since 9/11 and it is largely in part due to his efforts along with the courageous efforts of our military personnel. We owe a debt of gratitude and a respectful farewell to the man.

What our enemies think is what Pres-elect O wants them to think - this country is ripe for the taking.

SHould be an interesting 4 year.

Just my opinion - but whenever I look at Joe Biden’s old white-guy face and hear O talk about ‘change’, I just have to laugh.

How quickly I wonder will Joe begin to be excluded from all those meetings he said he would be attending, in order to ‘assist’ his president?

I urge everyone to start referring to the Obama Party as “NeoComs” for the Neo-Communists they really are.

This will stick.

We’ve had to endure the NeoCon perjorative term for long enough...

Bush did many heroic things but he also let down many of us who trusted him and supported him: generally not being tough enough with the bullies in the Democrap party. Not realizing that the bullies were paper tigers.

And stabbing his allies in the back for example refusal to move to the right and the recognition of narco state Kosovo and refusing to pardon the border agents and shut down the border among other things.

Amen to that!! The Media from day one has told us Bush stole the election, he is so stupid, he takes too many vacations, he never ever reads a newspaper or a book. He goes to bed early, he doesn’t have any parties at the White House like Bill Cinton did,He’s a horrible speaker, etc.
These are just some I could think of in a minute. Now we have been told daily Obama is extremely intelligent, well read, well traveled, and a regular basketball playing, trickortreating with his kids dad. Wow, he’s superman! My question is, how does the media think we are to believe anything they tell us from now on about the new administration? They could tell me the sky is falling now and I wouldn’t even look up.

Yep, you got that right. From the day he became the GOP Candidate for president, a satanic warfare began over him and our country. While he was president, God blessed us. When the democrats began to take over, He didn’t. Put your faith and trust in Him and you can ride out the storm. Put your faith and trust in government, and you are lost, lost, lost.

Yep, and Jesus, GWB’s saviour, did the very same thing. He stood dumb while his adversaries roared.

Because God expects us to. HE put Bush in as president and way too many people bashed him but wouldn’t pray for him. I plan to pray for President Obama even though I despise what he stands for. God is still in control, my FRiend, whether we like it or not.

The hatred comes from satan himself, from the pit of hell. He has been in severe spiritual warfare ever since he announced his candidacy. satan couldn’t fulfill what he wanted to in our nation because of Mr. Bush’s faith in God. Now he has free will. Hope all you bashers are proud of yourselves. (I don’t mean you.)

As I heard one pundit say, though, he’ll go back to his ranch at Prairie Chapel, and be able to look himself in the mirror with the sure knowledge that he did everything he could do for this country, and did it with dignity and class. There aren’t many Democrats, and unfortunately, not a few Republicans who can say that.

The Bible says we do not war against flesh and blood but with powers and principalities (demons). Had we all done or even understood spiritual warfare, perhaps things could have turned out differently. Blame Bush all you want, but he wasn’t the problem.
