Alinsky taught that the organizer's first task was to make people feel that they were wise enough to diagnose their own problems, find their own solutions, and determine their own destinies... "If the common man had a chance to feel that he could direct his own efforts … that to a certain extent there was a destiny that he could do something about, that there was a dream that he could keep fighting for, then life would be wonderful living."[38] ...

Conservatives who feel displaced, disenfranchised need to start organizing. This is a great piece. I think we should all read "Rules for Radicals" and see how well it would work for us!

I agree.

I agree so much it was the subject of a rare vanity by me.

I have both of Alinsky’s books...brought em when I first saw Obama rising.

Junk yard dog politics is where we need to go but that takes cajones and Republicans are sorely lacking in that area.

His motto was, "The most effective means are whatever will achieve the desired results."

Sounds more like an axiom. And like many an axiom, it's...well...axiomatic. Why does anybody think this guy's brilliant?

And the brilliance of the Obama selection is that he is now and forever *THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT*

NOT

*THE FIRST MARXIST PRESIDENT*

Yes, and you go right to the streets of Chicago, and ask the ‘hood’ where’s all that stuff you were promised?

Obama, The Various Reverends, they all got their nice houses. O got his sweet real estate deal. Where’s YOUR sweet real estate deal? How’s come only your saviors and your so-called leaders get to enrich themselves when you put them in power, and yet you are still living in run-down slums?

In other words, we should use derivative and immoral tactics that our enemies already know very well and which they are far more experienced than us in using.

I think we should all read "Rules for Radicals" and see how well it would work for us! I can agree that "Rules for Radicals" is a good read to get into the minds of and learn the tactics of the racial socialist/progressives/democrats, however; it would be a big mistake to act like them and become the moonbats that they are.

Michael Medved sure doesn’t agree. Right now he is slobbering all over the one talking about how we should be respectful and how moving his acceptance speech was. Sickening.

No way. His tactics are based in lies, distortions and mass hypnosis. I don't want to win that way. Unless you mean that The Messiah's policies will result in TRUE desperation and hopelessness. Then it wouldn't be lying. If so, then Yes We Can "Change" America back to what it is supposed to be!

From Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlines his strategy in organizing, writing:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution."[2]

I will NEVER lower my moral Christian moral standards to believe or act on the idea that “the end justifies the means.” Would you?

Thought the same - a long time ago. Remember David Horowitz trying to reach Bush and give him tips on the art of 'war' here. Guess, he did not get through. . .There are things to learn here; we don't have to be dishonest as per the 'Left' MUST be; but yes, our swords should be sharpened on the same stone.

Also might open more eyes - to what are the daily practiced tactics of the Left so that these 'naive Repubs' can finally figure out 'who' they are dealing with.

Even now; am amazed at how many do not get it!

They are despicable.

I’ve been thinking, we need to know and understand his tactics and why they worked.

Before we doing any of this, it will help for the GOP to first get back to conservative principles. President-elect Obama might be the high-colonic the GOP needs to purge itself of Bushonomics and the neo-cons.

The hundreds of millions of dollars Obama raised probably had more to do with his victory than anything Alinsky thought up. If Obama had to rely on Alinsky’s strategies, he wouldn’t have gotten very far.
