I’ve got a female friend of some 50 years out in Kalifornia who voted for 0bama but wouldn’t have minded if McCain won just as long as Bush was gone.
Always considered her a pretty smart woman. That’s changed along with a lot of other things.
Actually, it's probably mostly a sign of how rich we are, and how easy our lives are. One might even suggest that it's a sign of decadence.
To introduce the point, the cover of a recent Economist had a picture of Obama, with the headline "It's Time." Time for what? Why, a black guy to be president, of course. This is from a supposedly responsible publication!
Folks have gotten very used to the idea that they'll be comfortable and safe regardless of who's in the White House. The idea is that, because there are no apparent consequences, one can instead vote on the basis of less important factors -- such as, proving we're not racist. Obama is superficially attractive, he has a nice voice tat tells us things that make us feel good, and he's black -- what more do we need to know?
There is an old truism (paraphrased) The time to worry is when the population stop complaining and go silent.

Yep, you nailed it. They’re a hive mentality. The minions don’t speak until the command has filtered down to them. The entire election for him has been one of retribution of one form or another; either against President Bush, the right or white people in general. Now that they’ve won, they don’t have a clue as to what happens next.
As for all those young people that Obama brought in to push him over the top, I’ll almost enjoy watching them pay for it years down the road.
They ought to promise her and her flying monkeys that they will not vote against something and then when the time comes, they should vote "Present"

...leftist special interest groups getting gobs of our taxpayer $...with their own liaison to the exec-in-chief...
...the neon light voters have just sent up to every rogue tyrant or wanna-be tyrant around the world -- they'll be no America running to "kick the can" to free any the at-risk...
...Wall Street getting even more jittery about what has happened as investors lose trust that this is a country worth investing in -- and with more & more folks losing such faith it perhaps will only invite even grander entitlement programs.
Welcome to your Disunited States -- where the majority of urbanites want entitlements shelled out by suburbanites and ruralites. And where we no longer have a free mainstream press to monitor the 'One' who had a fling with them. (Thank God for the new media)
I just got back from Walmart, it was so quiet in there you could have heard a pin drop.
It makes me think that there are millions of people who think this election was corrupted by fraud.

Excellent point. This suggests that there may be a window of opportunity to wrest control away from the Marxists, after the sheep belatedly realize what they have done and before the Marxists eliminate our freedoms.

The glances I’m noticing are very weird, but more like everyone is noticing skin color and race again on a heightened level. I live in a town in Georgia with a very large AA population ... and a military post. Great combination. I would have expected all kinds of celebrating from the AAs, but I’ve seen nothing. For this Texas girl, the Deep South of Georgia sucks.
And my trip to Wal-Mart yesterday was interesting. I went straight back to sporting goods to purchase a few more boxes of ammunition. There were two white guys ahead of me doing the same (I am a white female). We all just kind of looked at each other, speaking volumes without even saying a word. The guy behind the counter was a very nice black kid, personable and helpful. But one comment he made really stuck with me. He said, “I’m starting to get a little nervous. There’s been a lot of people buying up ammo today.” His concern, although said in a light-hearted manner, was palpable.
To them, that really means "getting Republicans to swallow our agenda." No thanks. Any Republican who co-operates with the new administration needs to be targeted in primaries. The GOP minority, especially in the Senate, needs to stick together to derail as much as possible of Husseins disastrous agenda.
