I was complemented on my beautiful blue eyes twice yesterday by blacks. One in line at the supermart and another at the hairdressers.
“Oh, I just love blue eyes! I always wished I had them.”
It was creepy. It was something I’d never heard before. I can’t fathom what that was about other than knowing that blue eyes have always been code word for evil white racist.
What do you think because I’m dumbfounded by it all.
Didn’t Obama promise redistribution of blue eyes? I mean, if blue eyes are so pretty, and some people have 2 and other have none, is that fair?

Oh, that was a racist remark. Next time it happens, call them on it. Say, “That is a racist remark, I thought we had put racism behind us.”

I think there is a sincere effort amongst many blacks to extend a conciliatory gesture to whites. Many truely feel..”equal” now and really want to get along.
Some may be probing (as many whites just went to work the next day and didn’t go shooting up neighborhoods and burning crosses)as to what whites may be feeling, so they know how to comport them-selves. We didn’t go dragging Ohio elections officials into court after-words or belly ache about “cheating”. The “losing side” in short did not react in any way that blacks expected they would act. This has confused many folks on the left, blacks and whites.
No race riots, no burning cities. Maybe blacks have a few things to learn about conservatives, black or white in general.
As for the blue eye incident, a good response would have been, “thank you and I like that dress you are wearing”. Even if something racial was implied, keeping the conversation on a higher plane often disarms hostility.
