I understand it’s the first week so you are still all mourning

I am not down because I knew McCain would loose and I just wanted it over with so we can revive the R party and the Ds would finally start to be be held responsible for something. I knew since 2006 any republican would loose, unless something huge happened, and it did, all bad for McCain, who was not the best candidate, to be kind. Now we can make politics fun again, we will be free in January, we can (I pray) be smart and learn from our opposition and other successes (not GWB or JMcC) like in 1993-1994. Maybe I pray JMcC will join the republican side since democrats obviously will only accept pulling his strings for their approval.

That's the height of his popularity. It will only go downhill from here because Americans bought an Empty Suit.

I can’t stand Obama, but it is really stupid to do an Approval Rating Poll on a guy who got elected 3 days ago.

I am starting to regard Pollsters below Lawyers.

Yet even with low approval ratings, these jokers keep getting elected. There must either be massive cheating going on here somewhere or these approval ratings aren’t worth crap.

Then the recession will become the Obama recession

I don't think so. Remember the old Clinton trick? "I was going to cut taxes, but things were much worse than they let on......."

George W Bush will be to blame for everthing that happens in this entire century. BO will get a pass on it all.

I can't wait until he brings back the draft (not necessarily a bad thing).

Have to disagree with you there, FRiend. Our military is stronger when our troops have to work to stay IN instead of fighting to get OUT.

In addition to the 40% who Strongly Approve of Obama’s performance so far

What performance so far? Getting elected? Whoopee! 40% of the electorate is dumber than I thought they were on Tuesday night.

Beyond generating snarky remarks, this news is meaningless.

The real problem with Obama is that given what we know about him, he will likely give such popularity numbers more importance than facing the impopularity of doing what needs to be done.

A patriot sacrifices, takes the hit and is not afraid of administering the nasty tasting medicine that might make him unpopular.

Obama has no courage. Even Malcolm X had more courage. Malcolm X walked out of his racist church (though unfortunately only to enter another form of spiritual apartheid), yet there was some bare bones form of conscience at work (and he was murdered for his trouble by the Obama’s “mentor’s” friends. Obama will stoop to anything.

Obama might prove quite adroit at keeping his popularity going strong in the short and medium term.

I guess he not having the courage of his convictions is a blessing in disguise for conservatives, so it’s just as well that he looks at his numbers, but that is ultimately the difference between a politician and a statesman/patriot. Once he’s in, the latter does what’s right and not what is necessarily popular. And doing what’s right promoting: personal responsability, hard work, fairness, God, family, country... are all in the Conservative mind view.

I think he ought to just go ahead and join their side. He's been with them more than with us for so long now.

Well, we know where he stands on the issue of whether or not to vote “present.”

By the way, I taught my dog to push the “present” button, so expect her to be running for US Senate in 2010. She’s qualified by Obama standards!

I have always hated him and swore to my moderate R friends 2 years ago I would vote for Hillary if McCain gets it. But at 1 hour before poll close I knew he lost, which I figured anyway long before, and I felt OK voting for him knowing it couldnt hurt (and so I am one of 48%).

Unfortunately he cant join dem party (unless he works for BoB) and so I hope that his experiencing dems and MSM attacking him daily , and then having talk radio who he hated ,do all his heavy lifting (making me ill), that he comes to OUR side. One problem he has is all the voting mexicans in his state.

I posted how the past two days have been the worst in post presidential election history and the worst two day stretch in 23 years.
Who would have thunk it.

But I don’t want people to think I am bitter, if they perceive that then they won’t listen to me at all.
