In some ways he is worse than Dole, but they did have the same staffers. I just hate that the Helms seat fell to a liberal Democrat: Jesse would not like that. Apparently, Elizabeth Dole was so out of touch that she never knew she was in danger.

Yes, I did notice that, but the national media remembers that Biden was widowed at thirty or so and forgives him of such “lapses”. They wouldn’t do that for a Republican, of course. The American people though are the fools for listening to such media personalities.

Hey Doofus McCain has been around forever and he needed handlers. Uhhh, biggest financial mess in years and he says the economy is sound, and then gets schooled by Obama on how to react to it with his big-time backfire move of "going back to DC to fix it"? His pathetic debate performances and yet you say he had to prep Palin? "Earmarks my friends earmarks my friend earmarks my friends". Yeah some example on how to campaign.

Ol' Mac publically jumped to Obama's defense any time he felt the socialist was getting personally trashed. Yet he can't extend the same class and courtesy to his female running mate? Face it, the old man was a dud of a candidate and the only time he is maverick is stabbing his own party members in the back.

Yes, and “Gird your loins” was an inspired pick. Stand up The_Republican! Oh God Love You!

Whatever. You dislike Sarah Palin. Fine. There are some merits to your arguments.

But why do you have to be such an *sshole about it?

Close to one out of four conservatives voted for Jimmy Carter over Reagan. Was it because Dutch was an idiot too?

The same one out of five conservatives who voted for Obama ALSO voted for Walter Mondale over Reagan in 1984. And Reagan was an extremely popular incumbent with a good economy who was the top conservative icon of our lifetime. Was that because Reagan offered divisive slogans and fear and worthless symbols like Morning in America and Bears in the Woods?

17% of conservatives voted for Al Gore in 2000 over Bush.

Compare the #s. Carter in 80 23% of conservatives, Mondale in 84 18% of conservatives, Dukakis in 88 got 19% of conservatives, Clinton in 92 got 18% of conservatives, and he got 20% in 96, Gore in 2000 17% of conservatives, Obama in 2008 20% of conservatives. Pretty much the same amount across the board. Even against an Ivy League guy like Poppy Bush and Mr Conservative Ronald Reagan. The dem avgs around 20% of conservatives, give or take 2-3 pts depending on whether or not the GOP runs an incumbent.

But all those conservatives voted Obama because of Palin? It wasn’t because of McCain or because of Bush. You think Bush would have got the same 84% of conservatives he got in 2004 this year? Of course not. Obama did no better among conservatives than Mondale or Dukakis did. But somehow it was Sarah Palin who caused this great exodus towards him. Please.

As far as Bush dominating the educated category where are you getting your numbers? Bush and Kerry tied among college grads at 49 apiece. I wouldn’t call that dominating. Obama beat McCain among college grads by 53-45, but that includes beating him 58-40 among postgradyates. Among those who just have BAs/BSs Obama won by a whopping 50-48 margin. McCain and his “washed up beauty queen” VP Palin got all of 4 pts less among college grads than Mr Yale and Harvard MBA Bush did. Kerry won those with post-grad study 56-44. Bush won those without a college degree 53-47. Obama actually did his best among those who didn’t even graduate high school winning them 63-35, so it looks like the really uneducated folks fell for him. He carried the uneducated vote big. Obama also carried postgraduates by a slightly larger margin than Kerry, but not much of a difference.

Of course the modest shift in college grads is all Palin’s fault. It has nothing to do with the fact that Bush went from a +7 approval to a -44. Nothing to do with the fact that the right track/wrong track went from a +3 to a -55. Nothing to do with the fact that the Iraq War went from a +6 to a -27. Nothing to do with the fact that the economy went from a good/not good of 43-35 good to 6-44 not good. Nothing to do with voters saying that their financial situation has gone from a +4 better to a -18 worse in the past four years, It has nothing to with any of that. Nothing to do with the fact that Republicans and conservatives have been getting tossed out of House and Senate seats across the country for two years. It’s all Palin’s fault.

After another four years of Bush and seeing where we are, around 8% of colleeg grads who voted for him decided they’d had enoug hand switched to the dems, is that so hard to fathom, given all that’s happened? Or is Sarah Palin the only plausible explanation.

I mean, it’s not like Bush was some intellectual who naturally appealed to the educated or to people’s intellect in the first place and he won twice. The man had trouble putting a sentence together and speaking porper english. Cheney flunked out of Yale, not exactly a brainiac. Reagan wasn’t an intellectual either, nor was Nixon. Joe Biden was on the brink of being expelled from Law School because of plagiarism and lied repeatedly about his acdemic record, and that didn’t sem to bother college grads this go around.

College grads are not stupid. They’ve seen what’s happened under Bush and they voted accordingly, it has nothing to do with Palin. If Bush’s approval was anywhere near the 53% it was in 2004, the right rack anywhere near the 49% it was in 2004, and the economy was in the same shape it was, they would have voted for McCain/Palin in the same #s and they would have won easily. Obama being a professor and having that Harvard background may have helped on the margins, but nothing of significance. And if you really want to fault someone for being uneducated, what about the guy who finished 4th from the bottom at Annapolis and got by because his father was CINCPACFLT? I guess you weren’t too fond of another hick from that bastion of academia Eureka College out in the middle of nowhere?

FWIW, among white college graduates, McCain won 51-47, whereas among nonwhite college grads Obama own 75-22. McCain won white non college grads 58040, Obama won nonwhite noncollege grads 86-13. Obama being black and the GOP’s sinking reputation with hispanics in the wake of the immigration debate had nothing to do with that of course, it’s all Palin’s fault,

Palin had nothing to do with it. She was probably the reason why 1 out of 4 conservatives didn’t vote for Obama, if anything.

You want to know who drove voters away? They live in the White House and the Naval Observatory, not in Sedona and Wasilla.

seems like someone so intent on attacking Gov Palin for her ignorance would know that it’s Katie Couric, not Catie Couric.

And if you really think that’s what cost us the election you’re seriously off-base. The Couric interview wasn’t until around two weeks after the economic/financial meltdown started with Lehman Bros, AIG and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac imploding. The die was already cast.

Look at Rasmussen which was pretty on target. On 9/17, after the convention and before the meltdown started he had it a tie. 10 days later before the Couric interviews he had it Obama +6. What happened in the interim?

Here’s some polls that happened after the meltdown began and before the Couric interview. Fox News Obama +6 9/23, CBS/NYT Obama +5, ABC/WaPo Obama +9 9/22.

But it was all her fault? Please.

McCain’s poor debate performamces, being outspent 5-1, the huge shift that took place among the hispanic vote and the black vote and the youth vote, that was all Palin’s fault. If only she’d done better with Couric, the hispanic vote in FL wouldn’t have flipped 27 pts in the dems favor, and by similar or larger numbers in NV and NM.

Obama gained around 4 pts nationally from Kerry simply from the increases in the black and hispanic votes. He was at around 51.5% to start out simply by holding Kerry’s voters and adding on blacks and hispanics. That was all because Palin gave a bad interview to Katie Couric. Right.

McCain needed to win the white vote by around 3-5 pts MORE than Bush did in 2004 to win this year. That was never going to happen.

As for being proud of a black President, no one in the media would be feeling anything if Condi Rice had just been elected President, or any other black Republican or conservative for that matter. No one was ever proud of Clarence Thomas or of Alberto Gonzales being the first hispanic AG. It’s only dems and liberals that we’re allowed to be proud of.

You can’t really think that a ticket if say McCain/Lieberman or McCain/Ridge or McCain/Romney wins this election. This just wasn’t the GOP’s year, and Palin had nothing to do wth it.

I think Palin should be a popular govenour outside Washington than join the unpopular Senate. Plus, governours like Reagan, Clinton, and both Bushsin became President. Senators like Dole, Kerry, and McCain have had trouble becoming President.

“Proof my butt. McCain only sat in with her because he was insecure of being upstaged. He wanted a “maverick”, he got one.
He wanted someone who could present dissenting viewpoints, he got it.
He wanted someone from outside the beltway, he got it.

He wanted to dress his “little doll”, he got it.

He wanted someone who “shake up” his campaign, he got it.

Gov. Plain gave him the election on a silver platter, and he
tossed it.
Notice that when he finally left her off of her leash, he zoomed.
The man got what he wished for, and he screwed the pooch, not Gov. Palin.

You only got bitterness, not proof, and worse, it’s a “copy and paste” from the MSM and lefties bitterness that your projecting.

We lost to a billion dollar budget being handled by haters of Democracy and Conservatism, with years and years of preparation for this moment.

Try to get over it.”

THIS NEEDS TO BE REPEATED!

Thanks!

He backed down on FISA bill and OFFSHORE DRILLING.

He is for offshore drilling as much as he is for enforcing federal immigration law. You are falling for Obama doublespeak. This is from the Obama website:

With 3 percent of the world’s oil reserves, the U.S. cannot drill its way to energy security. But U.S. oil and gas production plays an important role in our domestic economy and remains critical to prevent global energy prices from climbing even higher. There are several key opportunities to support increased U.S. production of oil and gas that do not require opening up currently protected areas.

A “Use it or Lose It” Approach to Existing Leases. Oil companies have access to 68 million acres of land, over 40 million offshore, which they are not drilling on. Drilling in open areas could significantly increase domestic oil and gas production. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will require oil companies to diligently develop these leases or turn them over so that another company can develop them.

We don’t need any defense action from McPain. Like Thomas E. Dewey in 1948, he led us down the path to defeat in a race he never particularly cared to win. Ditto, Bob Dole, in some ways a better candidate, in 1996. They even had some of the same staffers.

McCain picked her. Why are you not blaming him?

Of course, we all know this stuff isn’t true. You are trying to “kneecap” her to help elect Rudy or Romney in 2012. News flash: We ain’t voting for them either!!

“He is for offshore drilling as much as he is for enforcing federal immigration law.”

Yes, excellent analogy. I just finished reading of his plans to use Executive orders to circumvent Congress and gain fast traction on reversing the Bush “damage”.
