Barack Obama hasn't yet served a single day in office yet MSN Money writer, Jon Markham, has confidence that he can solve our economic problems for the most fatuous of reasons: he is a good speaker like Ronald Reagan which is why his article is titled, "Why Obama is the new Reagan." In fact, the actual economic policies themselves take a backseat to eloquence according to Markham. First Markham sets up the economic challenge facing Obama (emphasis mine):

Reagan wasn’t a Marxist and believed fervently in the Constitution.

And spoke forcefully from a deeply held conviction in freedom. Obama stumbles and hesitates all the time because he has to remember “policy du jour” for the group to which he is speaking. Without a core set of principles, it is impossible to keeps ones lies straight. Hence the frequent pauses which are mistaken for intelligence.

The left is desperate for success. They’ll fail like they always do. Their policies don’t work.

Obama is evil and hatred personified.

Come inauguration, he will become the most dangerous man alive.

His hatred for white Americans is strong, and his Stalinism will creep out through the "Fairness Doctrine" and his attempts to disarm the Republic.

Obama is going to start a war right here in America.

Reagan was a masterful extemporaneous speaker

Obama is a stuttering imbecile without his teleprompter.

Anyone who says that Obama is like Reagan in any way is a glittering jewel of colossal ignorance.

Trickle-Down made economic sense and was proved to be true — it created the economic boom that klinton inherited and jacked, which led to what we have now.

“Build up” makes NO economic sense and is just a fig leaf for socialistic wealth transfer, which is the hinge for the vote-purchasing we saw last week.

PERCEPTION is what the MASSES go for....they (the MSM writers/propagandists) have created the perception that the U.S. is the bad guy, that NOW, Obama will fix....and NOW they are going to TRY and SAY he is Ronald Reagan....we’ll see if THIS works....

LOL! What a buffoon. Obama’s policies are exactly the opposite of Reagan. Reagan had trickle down economics and Obama has trickle up poverty.

These people are so clueless as to the success of Reagan it’s beyond my comprehension.

Yes, he was a good speaker, but it was his IDEAS that brought this country stability and ended (temporarily) the Cold War.

And this guy is the Money guy? The Money reporter? And he thinks Obama will be like Reagan because he speaks well?

And I have to actually question how this man made President when we have bozos like these giving advice in the lofty position of “journalist”.

Yeah. And the MSM is the new Josef Goebbels. There shall be no criticizing the New Messiah, since any such criticism would obviously be racist. There clearly cannot be any “merited” criticism, because “earning” or “merit” are obsolete terms, tending to refer to individual traits which only serve to distinugish, hence divide us.

We’re going to hear this kind of utter nonsense for minimally four years. Sigh.

That’s all well and good until they perceive themselves being out of a job, with no prospects of getting a new one. Then they’ll perceive prices skyrocketing even more than they have before for things that they need to live. At that point, it doesn’t matter what the MSM says. And there’s nobody else to blame it on but the Dems.

It’s not like these kinds of economic policies might start working at some point. They don’t work and we all know that. So, any attempt to implement them will be a failure.

But only if this is Reagan.

I would be thrilled if the Affirmative Action President turned out to be Jimmy Carter's economic and military twin, even with Jimmy's phenomenal weakness in both areas. That would still be far better than I expect from The One. And if you throw in Jimmy's ethics (which really were excellent), I'd call that a far greater miracle than we deserve after allowing the election to follow the path it did. As for being the next Reagan, my first thoughts followed the Christ - Anti-Christ path that others beat me to.

No major country in the world has been led by a speaker as talented as the Affirmative Action President since the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei [NAZI Party] of 1933-1945. In that very lame sense, Markam has a point, just with the wrong parallel. Reagan communicated because his message resonated. Obama succeeds, like Hitler, only because his delivery hypnotizes the weak-minded.
