Report: Hamas says its officials met Obama aides before U.S. election
Haaretz ^ | November 11, 2008 | Avi Issacharoff

The Arab daily Al-Hayat on Tuesday quoted a senior Hamas official as saying that United States President-elect Barack Obama's advisors met with members of the Palestinian militant group before the U.S. presidential election.

Ahmed Yusuf, a political advisor to Hamas' Gaza leader Ismail Haniyeh, reportedly told the London-based paper that, "The connection was made via email and after that we met with them in Gaza."

Al-Hayat reported that Yusuf also said the relations were maintained after Obama's electoral victory last Tuesday. He said the president-elect's advisors requested that the relations be kept secret so as not to aid his rival, Senator John McCain.

During Obama's campaign, he pledged that his administration would only hold talks with Hamas if it renounced terrorism, recognized Israel's right to exist, and abided by past agreements.

Didn’t Obama fire an aid over meeting with Hamas?

Where was our vaunted Main Stream Media when Obama's people were meeting with terrorists? What did THEY know and when did they know it?

The people who voted for O agree with him. If we sit down and talk to these terrorists they’ll begin to see just how nice we are and everything will be rosy.

I can’t wait to say, “Well, dumb ass, you vote for him.”

During Obama's campaign, he pledged that his administration would only hold talks with Hamas if it renounced terrorism, recognized Israel's right to exist, and abided by past agreements.

He lied about almost everything on the campaign trail. The American voters haven't seen anything yet. They're going to curse the day they bought Obomas snake oil.

Will our media follow this up and will the Jewish folk actually look at this instead of keeping their blinkers on?

Good bye Israel.

I won’t confuse the two. But actual Jews are seemingly few and far between. Rest assured that when the crap hits the fan and Israel is in dire straits the JINOs will look for help, and this time help just might not come.

Oddly, I sitting here holding my father-in-law’s “yellow star” arm band and his Reichpass with the red “J” stamped on it. He gave them to me last week. They had to start wearing them about this time 1938 (Krystalnacht was about this time, some 70 years ago).

Comments like “when the crap hits the fan and Israel is in dire straits the JINOs will look for help, and this time help just might not come” are just beyond disturbing.

The JINOs won’t be in the line of fire.

It will be Israelis — 76% of American ex-pats voting for McCain —— and identifiably Jewish people -— Orthodox, Hassids; guys like Eric Cantor (R - VA) who will be in the line of fire.

I am not sure why people think Israelis and observant Jews should be held responsible for the actions of JINOs.

That’s beyond disgusting.

Hamma probably contributed millions of bucks to the Obama campaign through the untraceable way the Obama camp tracked credit card contributions. I would bet there were about $100 million in illegal foreign contributions mostly originating from terrorist countries.

There have been many threads on phone banks in Gaza and illegal contributions from Gaza. No be find Obama aides were in Gaza. Just a coincidence.

One wonders if the prohibition against providing “expert advice” includes political and lobbying advice. I’m sure there was some “specialized knowledge” shared.

Leaving the Logan act aside since no one has ever been charged under it, I don't see how these aides couldn't be providing advice, knowledge, and training. They didn't go there for a beach resort, what else could the be doing other than conducting foreign policy and providing a heads up as to future policies.

Isn’t there some kind of violation here with him sending people over there to talk with Hamas (terrorists) even before he was elected? In what capacity were they having these discussions? What gave him the right or authority? Did anyone authorize these discussions?

So, if say, a Republican American Senator went over and had discussions with Hamas, do you think anybody, oh, say Chrissie Matthews, might be shouting it from the rafters? (sigh)

Anyway, isn’t there something the AG can do? Is there any legal recourse we have? This smacks of poor judgment at the very least, and treason at the very most. I’m sure that Obama has a code of ethics he’s supposed to be following as a US Senator. Can’t we get him for this? I mean come on...surely this is something!

according to this assessment, Obama committed fraud because he “induced” voters to vote for him..

Ha'aertz is a left wing Israeli paper. It's been reported in numberous papers, interestingly mostly outside the US. The underlying source is Al-Hayat, an Arab paper.

We’re going to hear a lot of “He said/Hesaid” for the next 4 years. I’ve already lost count.

Note post 70 and 19. It's illegal to provide assistance to a terrorist group. Not just money, but also training and advice.

So, if say, a Republican American Senator went over and had discussions with Hamas

A Senator would argue it was part of his Congressional oversight obligations. These are Obama's campaign aides, not Senate staff.

He lied about everything and sheeple believed him/his campaign.

This one just really bugs me because he’s a sitting Senator, and the AUDACITY of arrogance that he’s so confident he’s going to be elected months ago, that he begins sending advisors to negotiate with terrorists, behind the sitting president’s back? I’ve written to my Rep. and Senator asking what kind of legal recourse there is against this kind of action, should it prove to be true. I’d ask everyone else do the same. Surely there’s some kind of ethics violation for senators who engage in such purely treasonous actions without authority.

Agreed. Now is the time, not after the 20th 09. I believe the “inducement” part has legs. The ethics part is a little more technical I think.

Am I the only one who feels like I’m in some kind of alternative universe?

Ever since this man was elected, more and more crap keeps falling down....it seems so surreal, and unjust, that HE was chosen for CIC.
