Barack Obama promised he would lower taxes for 95 percent of Americans and presumably raise them for the 5 percent who benefited most under President Bush’s tax policies. But, remarkably, the most affluent 5 percent supported Obama and that was perhaps the key to his victory last week.

Yes, I've heard that BS before coming from old line 'Rat politicians, but it's a ridiculous line that means zilch in the real world - unless the person being addressed is going to get a cushy government job for his vote. Otherwise, big-time tax and spend Dems like "Osama" Obama are not very good for the general economy.

In Chicago it’s a little more basic. If you want to live you vote Democrat and when you die you will your vote to the party.

Their income levels and means of avoiding, deferring taxes and altering their income sources to avoid them altogether insure that no matter what Obama is saying to the sheeple, they will not be hurt by his policies anyway - and, besides, they got to make their greed-guilty conscience feel better.
SHOULD they feel guilty, no, unless they really are a thief.
Conservatives must do something about academia.

And conservatives must also do something about: the ongoing and worsening political bias in the MSM, the ongoing and worsening “dumbing down” of people, and the ongoing and worsening of political correctness, and all of these things are happening worldwide.
The MSM is terrible. But at least we have an alternative media. Also I believe the corruption of the MSM is also an outgrowth of higher education.
The Fairness Doctrine is the beginning of the end of the alternative media. A serious civil war is really what will be needed to turn things around for all non-leftists, or conservatives and all other non-leftists will be successfully suppressed for a very long time, if not forever.

My theory has been proven correct, Free Trade does nothing besides mint rich Democrats, and switch Blue Collar Republicans to the Democrat column.

While there are about 148.5 million taxpayers, there are about 42 million between the $100,000 and $250,000 income levels. Obama promised these voters a tax cut.
In contrast, there are only 6 million taxpayers that earn over $250,000! What’s more interesting is that the average effective income tax rate is essentially level at 18.3% and 18.0% for earners above $601,000 and $2.9 million income respectively!
