Campaign Bogeyman William Ayers Talks to 'GMA' (ABC Puff Piece)

Former Radical That McCain Camp Used to Tar Obama Says ...

By MARK MOONEY Nov. 14, 2008 —

William Ayers, the 1960s radical whose violent history became a focal point in the 2008 presidential election, said today that the Republicans unfairly "demonized" him in an attempt to damage the campaign of President-elect Barack Obama.

Ayers remained militant in his defense of his bomb-throwing past and repeated a statement that has infuriated his critics: "I don't think we did enough."

Ayers became a bogeyman for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin, who demanded to know more about Obama's relationship with his Chicago neighbor. Palin accused Obama of "palling around ... with a terrorist."

Breaking his silence, Ayers told "Good Morning America" today that the GOP attack was a "dishonest narrative...to demonize me."

"What you call the violent past, that was a time [the Vietnam War] when thousands of people were being murdered every month by our own government... We were on the right side," he told Chris Cuomo on "GMA."

The co-founder of the Weather Underground was, as McCain has claimed, unrepentant about the the bombings his group committed during the 1960s.

"The content of the Vietnam protest is that there were despicable acts going on, but the despicable were being done by our goverment... I never hurt anyone," Ayers said.

"Frankly, I dont think we did enough, just as today I dont' think we've done enough to stop these wars," he said.

***Despite Obama’s attempt to portray their relationship as a distant one, Ayers, in a new afterward to his book “Fugitive Days,” describes Obama as a “neighbor and family friend.”

On “GMA,” Ayers again downplayed any close ties to Obama despite the reference to “family friend.”***

I have no clue how the Drive-by idiots can keep giving Obama a free pass when the evidence of Obama lies keep slapping them in the face?

Jokes aside, there are artistic traits in both logos which match. It doesn’t take a trained eye to see the similarities though. I don’t know if BO ever saw the Weather Underground logo, but Ayers evidently helped him write a book. I think it’s more reasonable to assume that the logo was made by Ayers than to asusme it was a coincidence.

...as representing the Manson Gang’s fork that they stuck in their innocent victims’ stomachs. As Mrs. Ayers then said, “Dig it!!”, not mentioning of course, that one of the “pigs” she said Manson murdered was a near-term baby. Wonder if Chris Cuomo asked this scumbag about that?

Chris Cuomo and Ayers have a lot in common. Neither one of them would have amounted to anything if they hadn't had powerful talented fathers. Trust fund zeros chatting - and "no" he would not have asked him anything that would be considered challenging. Losers. Two creepy losers.

As noted above, both of them should be in prison, not in the halls of academia.

From the Chicago Tribune Article contains a Tribune photo by Charles Cherney / November 7, 2008 with this caption:

Bill Ayers, former 1960s radical activist turned college professor, listens to Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. speak at Northwestern University during an event hosted by Northwestern's Black Student Alliance. Ayers' name gained prominence during the presidential race when John McCain's campaign accused Barack Obama of having close ties to Ayers.

They’ll meet God one day and, if they don’t get saved soon, they’ll get to join with Saul Alinski and Lucifer in a very hot place for a very long time. I pity them both. Useful puppets, and they don’t have a clue.

13 sticks of dynamite that the group placed in a Detroit police officers’ association building

I think that was the bomb that was placed just outside of the 13th precinct located on Woodward near the Wayne State campus which fortunately did not detonate........

I think my dad was an instructor at the Detroit Police Academy at that time (I was away in the Army) then eventually transferred to that precinct and served as the Inspector's executive lieutenant.....

Has anyone read anything from the family of the SFO cop that was killed, allegedly by Mrs. Ayers’ bomb? How about the cop that was blinded by same? I’d be on her case to bring this tramp to justice 24 hours a day if it had been one of my family members. The only assurance is that Mrs. Ayers and her ilk will have to deal with their Maker some day, just as Bill Ayers’ former “girlfiend”, Diana Oughton, did prematurely whan she and her two Weather buddies were blown to bits in 1970 while making a nail-dynamite bomb they intended to set off at an NCO dance at Fort Dix that very evening. Nothing but property damage was intended, of course (this would be the way that boobs like Chris Cuomo would report it) — instead, they thoughtfully were providing the nails that could be used to repair the building.

I think the interviewer on GMA did a reasonably OK job, and Ayers looked like a sophisticated and urbane man who is comfortable with lying and spinning the truth, though it was entirely transparent.

But the MSM generally will interpret all of that as they have in the article above, with spin and subtle rewriting of the truth.

We have to rise above our indignation, we already know that the press is in the tank for Zer0 and that defending the indefensible has become their stock in trade.

To be fair and balanced ABC should interview one or more of the retired FBI agents involved in investigating, infiltrating and eventually taking down the Weathermen and SDS.

Weathermen and SDS were not primarily anti-war, that was one weapon in the arsenal they were using to overthrow the US government by violence. Bombs, threats, protests killings, etc were all part of their bag.

Don't let Ayers get away with this whitewash!!

Her words were hideous and despicable, and it’s also worth noting that the LaBiancas were an older couple who were chosen completely at random by Manson to be murder.

Dohrn thinks this was “revolutionary.”

Does anyone doubt that Dorhn and Ayers would have cheered for a Pol Pot-style genocide and “cleansing” in America????

Note: Like Ayers and Dohrn, the entire upper echelon of the Khmer Rouge came from well-to-do families. Many including Pol Pot were educated in France. IIRC “Brother Number Two” Nuon Chea took his Doctorate from the Sorbonne, and his dissertation described the agricultural progrom that under the Khmer Rouge starved and killed nearly one million Cambodians. Ayers and Dohrn fit the genocidal terrorist profile perfectly and in many obvious ways.

Dohrn, Ayers, and the rest of the WU would have been happy to conduct a Pol Pot-style genocide in America (”25 million” according to recent reports).

On GMA, Ayers exercised precisely and exactly the kind of spin and doubletalk that we’ve heard from every Communist functionary of the last century.

I have no doubt that he and Dohrn would be intellectually comfortable with killing anyone and everyone who got in the way of their noble and vast social plans, just like any committed Communist.

He has admitted in public that he “got away with it.”

I am really surprise he, and especially Dohrn, are still alive. I would think someone would have performed non-governmental capital punishment on them by now.
