One of the favorite rallying cries on conservative radio these days is that the president-elect might face demands from his crazed lefty pals to revive the "Fairness Doctrine" to muzzle Rush, Sean and their allies on the right end of the radio dial.
Commentators like Larry Elder of KABC here in Los Angeles have been sounding the warning about the possible imminent return of federal rules mandating that broadcasters balance out political views on radio and television.
Newt Gingrich asserted not long ago that the Democrats certainly would mount "an effort to eliminate freedom of speech for Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity." Limbaugh responded, "It's going to be more than just me and Hannity whose freedom of speech will be done away with via the Fairness Doctrine."

A search of these same sites prior to the Amnesty bill last year would have had the same results. The amnesty deal was essentially a bolt from the blue. That is the way it works when the politicians are eager for something for their own purposes. The Fairness Doctrine would be a similar bolt from the blue.
Notice the caveat? And no mention of cable tv, satellite radio, internet , etc?
I think its going to be pushed , regardless of Lefty's opinion..
No problemo, NPR will give David Brooks 30 minutes a week.
Any attempt to reinstate the FD would result in a constitutional crises and huge lawsuits from hundreds of media conglomerates.
The left wing whack jobs would love nothing more than for us to cower in fear and give in to a Marxist policy or two in "exchange" for backing off the Fairness Doctrine.
We are acting like frightened children hiding under our beds.

I spent 2+ months in Canada last year. You should listen to the pap they have to listen to all day. Anti-US bull poop and just plain lies. Their TV is equally biased.
They should have to put on 1 hr. of lib, 1 hr of Conservative, etc., and make the libs get off their lazy asses to change stations or turn the radio off, or what ever they would do to avoid listening to the truth.
