It would be. Sanford/Jindal has to be our 2012 ticket

These would be 2 guys who can not only win, but both are smart, sincere and could clean up the huge mess Obama will leave us

Never heard of him...Question: Can he Talk a good game or does he have porky pig syndrome (Stumbles over his own words)? If Yes to the question, than he is NOT needed... If No to the question, than he can be looked at

He is my state governor and was my congressman. He is a good man with good ideas and is politically savvy. IMHO, he has some Porky Pig Syndrome but not really bad. Although, he tends to ramble and quite frankly his speaking is about as inspiring as a cardboard box. I believe he also lacks the killer instinct the GOP needs for its next leader.

Bottom line is he wouldn't get out of the NH primaries.

Thank you...

If Republicans pick another “porky pig syndrome” representative in 2012, you'll be looking at 2016...

Look what a smooth talking Liberal with Zero experience can get you....

He’s not a pork barreller at all. Not even close. He has ripped his own party a new one for taxpayer abuse for ladling bills with pork.

My first introduction to Sanford was this week when he was interviewed by CNN at the Governor’s conference. He seemed insecure and defensive when it came to answering questions about Palin. I was surprised. Both Jindal and Sanford came across self-serving, self-conscious and not a team player.

It bothered me that the attention Palin was receiving bothered them. If Sanford is sincere then great. I will give him another look. Jindal has potential but he is weak on the experience side right now.

I would like to see the Republican Governors really work together and apply pressure on Congress and the Administration over the next four years. We need all the Conservative help we can get to save our country from economic peril.

The only way these Governors will succeed is if this group of 20-21 Governors band together and becomes a TEAM. They could make a difference if they put aside their own individual goals.

There are over 50 million Americans who voted for McCain and we are all looking for Conservative leadership to steer us out of this economic mess. I don’t think Congress or BHO is capable. If Sanford, Pawlenty, Jindal, Barbour, or Palin,..etc. decide to work individually they will hold little power to make any difference in influencing Congress.

I hope we can depend on these Governors to re-engage and work as “one” to fight the incompetence in Congress.

The blue states are losing because the dam$ yankees are moving to my homestate of NC. I hope Sanford will run. I wished he did in ‘08. He’s a libertarian (not and extreme) Republican.

Ah - sorry. I misunderstood - I don’t agree with that sentiment, either, but I don’t want to accuse you of calling him a pork-spender.

I’m looking for the candidate who can give a bold, clear, forthright defense of conservative principles. The candidate who can’t do that will join Dole and McCain on the PGA celebrity tour.

Like Obama without his teleprompter and his media shield. Conservatives need to be able to speak without either.

How bad was the voter fraud? I simply can't believe NC went Blue.

Could you take in a few conservative yankees from Joisey??? My wife is more conservative than I am-if that's possible.

I remember Mark Sanford’s name being mentioned some time ago as a possible running mate for McCain, but in the final days before the Palin announcement was made, I never saw him included in the speculation about who would be tapped, and I don’t know why that was—was McCain known not to favor him?

Nooo. Two reasons. One, moving from being an effective Chief Executive to a backbencher in the minority party is no promotion. Two, his leaving the state leaves the erratic (and defeatable - by a Democrat) Andre Bauer as Governor.

Same reason why Palin shouldn’t ponder a move to the Senate were Stevens to be replaced (although her Lieutenant is able).
