President-elect Barack Obama is looking very presidential these days. When he makes an announcement, he is ringed by American flags and stands behind a lectern that has a very presidential-looking placard announcing "The Office of the President-Elect."
But the props are merely that. Under the Constitution, there is no such thing as the Office of the President-elect. Technically, Obama will not even become the president-elect until the Electoral College convenes after the second Wednesday in December and elects him based on the results of the Nov. 4 general election, as stated in the Constitution.
So what is Obama's executive authority in the weeks leading to Jan. 20?
In the 11 weeks between Election Day and Inauguration Day, the next president must ensure a smooth transition by selecting political appointees to manage key agencies and offices within the Executive Branch, and by creating the policies that will define the new administration -- all while respecting the authority held by the current president.
The Presidential Transition Act -- created in 1963 and amended in 2000 -- establishes formal provisions for the transition period by outlining training and other assistance that the president-elect and his team of advisers can receive as they prepare to assume office.

It’s a psychological ploy to build loyalty in his disciples. He will need it if the BC battle goes to oral arguments.
Obama, as numerous people have pointed out, is NOT the President Elect. Not until the Electors have voted.
He is as fond of inventing symbols and signs of power for himself as Hitler.
It’s never about his country. It’s always about HIM.
Who cares that the Constitution says he’s not President until next year?
Barack can’t wait to get in there and start screwin’ it up.
He won’t let the Constitution stand in his way then, either. After all, it is just a sheet of paper.

Barrack Hussein Obama and John Sidney McCain III will be the only two individuals to receive votes from the electors for the office of President of the United States. Joe the Drunk and Sarah Palin will receive votes of the electors for the office of Vice President of the United States.
BHO will be found not to be a natural born citizen of the United States and ineligible for the office of President. The House of Representatives will be forced to vote for the one man who is a natural born citizen who received votes in the electoral college JSM III. But the JSM will not receive majority of the state delegations so The Lush will become acting President and will serve the entire four year term as he attempts to drink the nation to sobriety.
He and his Wall Streeters are just yakking to push up the market and take some short term, year end profits. That’s all his talk is doing. To be followed by another big fall. He’s suckering us.
Next, he’ll dress up in a General’s uniform! LOL! He’s an ego problem.

If he can create the image that he is already POTUS it will in his mind make it harder for the court to rule against him. IMHO

I must be really out of touch. When I first saw that silly looking card, I snorted my soda out my nose.
My first thought was, what a wannabee. He’s not in office yet, so he has to put up a pretend sign, like the little kid who fools with toy saws because he’s not allowed to use the real ones yet.
I guess the MTV generation doesn’t recognize true lowclass when they see it. Obama would never have won if they did.

Agreed.
And despite the huge dishonor this FAKE SEAL does to the presidency, to GWB himself, to the Constitution, the rule of law, and to the voting public, don’t expect GWB or his staff to whisper even a peep about it.
They won’t tell Zer0 to stand down because they don’t have the gonads even to protect the Office Of The President from this enormous disrespect.
