Noonan: Mischievous Media Wants to Make Palin Face of GOP
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Why does Sarah Palin continue to receive so much media coverage? Peggy Noonan has a theory. The Wall Street Journal columnist believes the MSM is up to what she considers "mischief": attempting to make Sarah Palin the face of the Republican party.

Noonan propounded her premise during an appearance today on Morning Joe.

It's good to have people like you on our side. The kind of guy who will cast his first vote for Reagan in 1980.And I have no doubt you will be with us in 2012 when it is safe to be for Sarah. After the true believers clear the field at great political and social risk to be labeled crazy fanatics. But our young friend in Ohio is the kind of guy we need NOW to battle for true conservatism.

The times now call for destruction of our enemies within the party first and , yes, to undermine anyone who gets in our way....in case you don't know your history, that's exactly what we did for RR when he was challenged by all the Rino's starting with GHWB.....and our friend from Ohio has the balls to take the fight to the RINO's.....( if you doubt me, look up Terry Dolan ).....so do us a favor and stay home by the fire while the real fighters engage the enemy within our own party.

You see, friend, you gave yourself away by saying that you voted AGAINST CARTER, rather than FOR REAGAN.....that's all I needed to know. You'll be with us aginst BO rather than for SP....and that's fine...just don't go giving advice to young tigers like our Ohio friend....as I said, he and people like him, are the future of this great land.

Do you remember when you were growing up and believed yourself to be wise, accomplished, capable and successful in your endeavors? Would you remember having those feelings and sitting next to a stern, controlling, critical, watchful father who felt he needed to monitor your every move and every word? Well, that is the feeling I had when I watched Sarah sitting next to McCain.

I had the feeling when she gave her speeches (and I love her so I saw MANY of her speeches) how inspiring and exciting she was even when she had to give the same ole message over and over and over. I cannot see myself having to say the crappola that McCain’s people had her say without sounding like a recording...a boring recording. I think she did exceptionally well under the circumstances.

Her simplicity, her lack of polish was enchanting. I do, however, believe that she should take these next years and grow into the national scene which means spit shining her image and maturing her speech. I do not want to see her turn into a slick jaw mcgraw like the scheisters we now have in office. I hope she will remain a mirror of the ‘simple folks’, one of us and not one of them.

You misunderstand our young friend from Ohio. He doesn’t mean he’ll stop at RINO’s running against Palin. He means he’ll undermind anyone. Take a look at his recent attacks against Bobby Jindal. Jindal is a true conservative, the real deal. It’s a pity that you can’t tell the difference between a political fighter and a love struck adolescent who think we (in his own words) OWE Sarah Palin. Give me a break.

I just checked this thread and I didn't see any attacks by him on Bobby Jindal. But maybe he did somewhere else....but so what?. Jindal's a damn good man....so are others....but right now SP is the STAR!

Look , who the hell knows, maybe SP will self-destruct before 2012. But for now young guys like "ohio" will be what drives the enthusiasm for the restoration of conservative rule.

There is a lot at stake. We need guys who will take a bullet for the cause. I don't particularly care what a man's motivation is to hit the beach....as long as he does it.

A woman who can energize the GOP like she did in just eight weeks is a Mega Asset. And anybody like that is going to attract hard core supporters. I love it. That's what we need....and if a few good men get rolled over in the assault to take back our party then so be it.

In Reagan's steamroller to the nomination some fine conservatives got run over because they were too slow to get on board. Men maybe smarter and more accomplished than RR....but he captured the hearts of the movement.....I think she is doing that now...maybe already has.

And that's why we need to encourage all the young turks out there to keep attacking anyone they think is not pure enough....now is not the time for subtle debate...but the time to cause trouble and shake up the GOP.

Noonan has lost her way. She’s become a milquetoast New York snob. With few remaining core convictions, her writing has lost its bite. I once looked forward to her columns, but I just don’t bother to go there anymore. Her decline began long before her Palin phobia set in.

I sense that you mean well for not only the GOP, but the country as well. However, I'll never be able to agree that the above is going to help either. Time will tell.

Yes. I think we both want what is best for the country....and we can disagree as to the means but still remain compatriots. As you say, time will tell. Let the games begin.

Apparently bashing Palin pays much better than writing boring books.

Pray for W, Palin and Our Troops

Peggy, enjoy your new-found role as media whore. Just remember, they will chew you up and spit you out as soon as you are no longer useful to them.

And the funny thing is, if you man-up and say you're sorry and that you were wrong about Sarah, we'll take you back.

That's the difference between us ignorant rednecks and the pimps you're currently rolling with.

We need to throw the net far and wide to find a viable candidate, but we also need to nominate someone who has not become a national laughing stock.

Reagan was considered a national laughing stock by the media as well.

We know how that turned out, don't we.

I'm beginning to think that for guys like you, another Reagan is the last thing you want.

There is ZERO similarity between the Palin phenomenon and Reagan's ascendancy.

Sure there is. What's changed is that you're not as zealous and idealistic as you used to be. Many of us need to get back to that.

If it turns out that Peggy is right, do you think the Palindrones will man up and apologize to Peggy? Sorry, but I've been a fan of hers for well over 20 years. I didn't jump ship the second she uttered a negative phrase about Sarah Palin.

These people ignore what the MSM did to Palin and Joe the Plummer. Also to Rush and Tom Delay. To Newt and Trent Lott. ETC... MSM is the enemy and Peggy is the MSM.

You are absolutely right. McNasty and his nasty boys and girls (one in particular, first name Nicole, forget her last name) did everything they could to stifle Palin and lose the election.

I’m really surprised that there isn’t more of an outcry from conservatives about what a rotten lousy stupid worthless creep McCain and his phalanx of self-proclaimed geniuses turned out to be.

Certainly, McCain is going to go down in history as one of the cretins of our age. I have no explanation for how he came to choose Palin but once he did choose her he shackled her and tried to turn her into a spittin’ image of his ole’ craggy crappy bipartisan cretin self.

Laugh out Loud. Hilarious.

I am not the only one who feels this way bud. Anyone who gets in her way is going to be treated like a Democrat. Attacked like a Democrat. dismantled like a Democrat.

My web site will be up and running in the next year.

I want to clerify. Anyone who attacks Sarah in any way is going to be treated like a Democrat. that includes the staff at the RNC.

As John McCain would say “you will know their names, I will make them famous”.

Peggy's ridiculously catty attitude right in the middle of an election was the end of it for me. That kind of thing is NEVER right. It helped Obama and for that, she should be ostracized. I will have nothing further to say about her until she denounces her New York socialite pals and admits that she was dead wrong to do what she did.

I consider her a Brutus.
