A video of fish swimming around underneath an oil rig. You can clearly see the piping and frameworks that comprises the underpinnings. You can see the rig in the background when they stand in their boats to show off the fish they caught. This video is useful for when the oil drilling debate comes back.
I have no clue who these people are. Don't care. It's good to have a video like this at my fingertips. The homepage for this video seems like it's under construction, so if anybody around here has extra web space that they could make a copy of this for later use in case the web page dies, that would be most helpful for when this debate comes back.
Got another one for you, if you’re curious.
I appologize about the music, this isn’t my own personal work nor video. But I’ve already started emailing this out so that the people I know have seen it and see the reality of life under oil rigs as opposed to the media’s reality.
Cool video but what is the point of these rednecks spearing large Amberjacks and Barracudas. Totally inedible fish and just a waste. Equvilent to men with with small penises trophy hunting lions in Africa for no other reason than to say they killed it. Gives hunters and sportsman a bad name, sorry Ted Nugent. You can’t eat it you don’t have any business hunting it.
‘cuda under about 4 lbs, is usually safe....and delicious
Now some endangered fish will swim by, make it its home, and they will have to shut the rig down so as not to destroy its habitat !!!
I got the video, but do you have a link to their webpage?
^^^^^^^^^^^^Cool video but what is the point of these rednecks spearing large Amberjacks and Barracudas.^^^^^^^^^^
To me, the point of the video is the habitat that an oil rig provides. You won’t see anything like this in liberal media.
But as far as the fish they’re spearing, perhaps they’re doing it for sport. And isn’t Amberjack edible? There’s recipes for it online.
I agree with you, totally. But that’s why we need to get these facts out.
I appreciate you bumping some of your people to this thread.
I know that I’m emailing this out to all kinds of people, as well as posting it for people to see. As I usually do. I hope you’ll leverage your email too.
Information and facts undermine what these people want to do. I hope you find this video useful.
Hahahaha!
You know, I didn’t think about that!
I hope that becomes the new widespread argument. That would force them to admit that offshore oil rigs end up becoming thriving homes for wildlife.
The new congress will kill the newly approved offshore drilling bill and it will go away so we need to get back to pushing all involved understand that we cannot be dependent on foreign oil and allow a windfall tax on the oil companies. (I got a letter from Boxer and she took pride in the fact that she sponsored that bill)
Save the offshore drilling and Help Sarah open anwr
Its all about National Defense, Drill for Oil Now
I found it by googling. The video page goes to some forum posting. They have other videos as well. But I don’t entirely trust anonymous forum postings.
I have more faith in fellow freepers. :-)
A good information goldmine like this can’t be allowed to go to waste if you ask me.
Thanks for the link!
When we had a boat, the place we headed first, was to an oil platform in the Gulf. After that we looked for a weed line. Now that was REAL fishing!
Yep, thanks. Here’s another one from the group I posted at the first link.

It’s 111MB in size, so careful about the download time.
Most of this groups vids seem to be open water. Only these two appear to be underneath oil rigs.
