GM and the UAW can go to hell.
Agreed !!
“I know you dissappointed in me baby. I know I betray you baby. Now gimme some money, b!tch.”
Go here to get some background on Chevy P/U speedos:

Hmmm. We’ll see.
This is a good point. While I’m very much against the Detroit bailout, the Wall Street bailout got far less scrutiny for much more money.
Every UAW member I know (and from Michigan and in the business that’s a lot) is far to arrogant when it comes to what they feel is owed to them to ever admit to anything unflattering.
Ever notice their jackets? UAW logo is ALWAYS the largest, the actual guy who signs their check can be found somewhere but you have to look for it.
Someone admits to betrayal and being a disappointment and then demands money! Lots of money!
I had a reservation for one of these until the recent market panic forced me to rethink my expenses.
This is the conspiratorial side of my brain talking, but does anyone else think theres a plan to neuter the USA by fostering a purely service-driven economy where we have to rely on communist and third-world nations to provide all of our manufactured products, not just for our material comfort, but for our survival (medical devices, transportation, guns, etc.)?
Also, theres another little detail that no one is talking about when discussing bankruptcy by the Pig-3 credit default swaps (CDS). When Delphi when bankrupt, the balance sheet liability was $2 billion, but the CDS liabilities were $25 billion! Ouch! Since there is no transparency with CDSs (theyre traded company to company), no one knows what kind of financial tsunami will be triggered by bankruptcy other then 10 to 20 times the balance sheet of the Pig-3 companies and their suppliers.
Just something to think about
I remember reading a Sports Illustrated article about Brian Bosworth, back when he was the next big thing. He talked about working at the local car plant (I think it was Chevy. He and the fellow workers would hang a washer by a string somewhere on the frame where it couldn’t be found to drive the owner crazy.
I was a teenager, and wondered why anyone would damage a company’s reputation like that. Still haven’t figure it out.
Yes they did.
I’ll accept the apology when they make it personally to me, and make some effort at reparations for the thousands of dollars I lost dumping their vehicle from my life.
Hint: I’m the one that owned the ‘94 Lumina about which YOUR VP for Customer Service in Detroit for Chevy told me that, if I wanted quality, I should have thought about that BEFORE I bought a Chevy.
And.
I have a LONG memory.
Losing money on the EV1? How is that any different from the fact they are losing money on their entire product line?

Around 1980 I noticed problems with GM/Ford — tried a few more times after that, but really took it in the shorts on the Blazer and worse with the Impala.
After that I was done with GM/Ford, although I could kick myself repeatedly and very hard for selling some of the 60’s & 70’s models that are worth a mint now.
I will NEVER buy a GM after not buying anything else for years.
You bought a Chevy pickup truck with a pseudo-humvee body and you are happy.
Proof positive that BRANDING is a powerful tool.
To think that the Envoy I rented last January ALMOST seduced me into the GM realm...
BANKRUPTCY is the ONLY way for Detroit to get out of this mess.
And the crappy Klear-Coat you put on my wife’s last car, the one where you changed it, sold a bazillion cars, and then found out it peels off like a bad sunburn!
