In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.
On ABCs This Week, host George Stephanopoulos asked: The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.
"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?
McCain replied: I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.

Keating Five, *cough*.
Bullseye just like they treated Bush.
Hmmm...
McWeevil trolling for a cabinet position?
I think I’ll rename him McFlea
Graphics in process....
Sen. McCain — in many respects you’re an honorable man. Please salvage some of that honor and STFU now. Your campaign is over, you lost, and we’re no longer listening to you.
That's like Rush said a few weeks ago: "If you cross that road, stay there forever". McCain lost the election. Sarah didn't.
We all knew what he was but we had no other choice.
WOW.
In a perverse sort of way, I’m glad we lost this election.....
I have lost whatever remained of the smidgen of respect I once had for McCain.
Bugger off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Honeymoon is over!!!!!!!!!!
Had he not named Palin to the ticket, I never would have voted.
McVain must be feeling so much more comfortable that he can be his old capitulating self and not have to pretend to be conservative any more.
Good man, hero, lousy Senator and Pub. This is another reason 4 million Evangelicals failed to vote in Nov. Today,he dissed Sarah, the only person who got him closer than he got to the faux Messiah. Yeah, he is a Pub by an inch and they need him for social votes but brother, no wonder he could not close the deal with this own Party.
Now that all is said and done, I do think I would have voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party had I had Nov. 4 to do again. Just for conscience’s sake
I read that his mother was joking that conservatives had no place else to go but to her son. Apparently, she is some kind of elitist. And supposedly, Cindy McPain was very rude to the nonelitist Palins.
Poor Mike Duncan; few know who he is, what he stands for, what he says, and they don’t care. The job of RNC chair is that of a figurehead and has been for many years. That being said, I don’t think Duncan caused the Nov. 4 results: GWB did.
Everytime I see this thought illuniminated I shake my head in disgust.
Voting for the lesser of two evils should be over in this party now with conservatives. It's either give us a conservative to vote for or take a hike! It's that simple. If you people keep showing the GOP/RNC you will vote for anyone with an (R) by their name don't get it now, you never will!
I really don't see how not voting did anything other than give us the worst of two candidates. By your standards there is nothing but political suicide each time a candidate doesn’t meet all your requirements. There will never be one that is 100% to every one of us, probably not any of us. Yes, RNC does need to field better candidates, but I don't think McCain was anything other than the only one left standing after crossover Dems, Inds and RINOs had nominated him. And what do you do when people not of your party are allowed to determine the nomination. It's easy to sit at home and say “I won't” but what is the “I will” solution?
