BAGHDAD (AFP) — An Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes and an insult at George W. Bush, without hitting him, as the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi premier at his Baghdad office on Sunday.

As the two leaders met in Nuri al-Maliki's private office, a journalist sitting in the third row jumped up, shouting: "It is the farewell kiss, you dog," and threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush.

Maliki made a protective gesture towards the US president, who ducked and was not hit.

SS agent on the left: "Oh, jeeez. I just screwed the pooch."

Looks like a deer in the headlights to me.

I’ve worked with some Seccret Service agents for days and no way are they soft and it doesn’t matter who is President.

For the Secret Service: It’s GAME ON.

One thing Democrats, Communists, and like-minded totalitarian nuts have in common is their taking over the training of journalists in universities around the earth

They have been trained to attack those that are successful, unless it is a successful entertainer or university employee.

This is upsetting in more ways than one. President Bush has worked so hard to free these people from tyranny. They are going to have to take the ball and run now on their own. Obama will not be there to help them further.

The slow reaction of the secret service is shocking. There was plenty of time before the second shoe for one or two of them to jump in front or push him down to protect him. No doubt, this will be in future training videos for those who will be in charge of protecting a president. It is shameful that our President was left up at the podium and had to protect himself. I am sure that Laura is not happy about this.

This is upsetting to watch. I pray that President Bush returns home safely, and continues to serve us without another incident. Those watching over him must be more alert. Very scary.

Yep every liberal is hailing the idiot as a potential pulitzer winner.

Amazing how the liberals want us all to come together and sing Kum Bayah with Obama but they continue on with their disrespect to the office of the President.

Of course when someone as simple as Joe Wultzenberger questions their New Messiah Obama he is immediatly destroyed. Sad days ahead for America.

If this somehow transends into support for the President the Left will claim it was all a setup and staged for effect.

Older generations' parents threw shoes when they couldn't make the leap to catch misbehaving children. Today that form of corporal punishment may be considered child abuse, I guess.

Heh. The guy is just doing what the American LameStream Media does every day.

Not anymore, though. Hussein will be worshiped by the “journalists” in D.C.

This Iraqi clown is an ungrateful jerk and should be fired. How pathetic is it—the man who helped give them freedom of speech is attacked.

Winston Churchill was treated the same way by the Brits after WW2.

Everyone I've ever met in the Zaidi clan was a thief.

And I've met quite a few of them.

Now, latest net joke ~ if this happened to Obama he'd just knock it aside with his manpurse. He'd leave the beat down on the reporter to Michelle.

Do we even know he's Iraqi?

He works for an Egyptian TV station.

He's probably on zero's payroll.

The irony here is had this been 5-6 short years ago, the dude would be executed for something like this.

Being up here in the UP, I have access to a lot of Canadian news. Several years ago I recall seeing a piece where then Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien was going through a line of people and greeting them. This guy came up to Chretien and said something rude, got in his face, and much as I disagree with Chretien's politics, he reacted properly by throwing an extremely hard right hook into the guy's cheek. A haymaker. Very unFrench-like. But effective. The old hockey upbringing; take no shit from no one.

W should have picked up the shoe and shoved it up the reporter's Muslim ass.

I love how the Iraqi agent on the right is staring down the photog. That is one no-nonsense look. He had the sense to not look at the shoe thrower when every other person in the picture is doing so, but to watch for potential danger from another direction.
