Dear Chairman Duncan,
I was saddened to learn that at a time of national trial, when a president-elect is preparing to take office in the midst of the worst financial crisis in over seventy years, that the Republican National Committee is engaged in the sort of negative, attack politics that the voters rejected in the 2006 and 2008 election cycles.
The recent web advertisement, "Questions Remain," is a destructive distraction. Clearly, we should insist that all taped communications regarding the Senate seat should be made public. However, that should be a matter of public policy, not an excuse for political attack.
In a time when America is facing real challenges, Republicans should be working to help the incoming President succeed in meeting them, regardless of his Party.
From now until the inaugural, Republicans should be offering to help the President-elect prepare to take office.
Furthermore, once President Obama takes office, Republicans should be eager to work with him when he is right, and, when he is wrong, offer a better solution, instead of just opposing him.
This is the only way the Republican Party will become known as the "better solutions" party, not just an opposition party. And this is the only way Republicans will ever regain the trust of the voters to return to the majority.
This ad is a terrible signal to be sending about both the goals of the Republican Party in the midst of the nation's troubled economic times and about whether we have actually learned anything from the defeats of 2006 and 2008.
The RNC should pull the ad down immediately.

Quite frankly, these clowns are not worth fighting. We have to concentrate on fighting the Dems and their destructive vision for America. That’s the primary fight now.

That's correct. Obama ran a Seinfeld campaign: a show about nothing.
But what was the Republican campaign about? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?
For most of the political season, McCain sounded like he was running not for President of the United States but for Secretary of Bipartisan Solutions (or Secretary of B.S.). Now, my friends, in the interest of working together, I think we need to reach across the aisle...
But enough of that. Please. Obama's secret, other than being treated as the media's Lord and Savior, was that he was allowed to elevate Vagueness to an art form. The public responded not because they are too dumb to understand but because they were given nothing nourishing by which to contrast the unbearable lightness of being The One. If Obama was all sizzle and no steak, McCain was an overdone burger with a side of greasy fries. And the only real Filet Mignon in the race was a saucy lady from Alaska whose very rareness contrasted all too harshly with the less filling fare on the menu.

Newt is right. We have to go against Obama’s bad ideas and offer better ones. Because right now it sure looks like republicans are more interested in “ODS” and hoping that there will be some disqualifying loophole that will take down Obama than do the hard work of challenging his ideas.
Gee, I sure hope he runs in 2012. Especially if it’s for the Democratic nomination.

That wasn’t true for the Demonrats.
They spent both his entire terms talking about how incompetent he was, how bad his policies and personnel were, they hammered constantly on the so-called “culture of corruption” and their allegations were basically a series of lies, whereas OUR allegations are right-on, and have more veracity, than their eight-years long drumbeat of hatred.
Hatred that GOT them the Congress, Senate and White House.
And now we’re supposed to be placid little lap dogs, squealing with delight and happily licking the faces of one and all as they drive us into Marxism???
I think not.
I will show Dear Leader the same respect that THEY showed Prsident Bush all these long eight years.
