LAS VEGAS (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's behind Caroline Kennedy's effort to replace Hillary Clinton in Senate.

Reid says he's spoken to Kennedy and New York Gov. David Paterson about the possible appointment, calling Kennedy a "wonderful" choice.

Paterson will choose the replacement for Clinton, who is leaving her New York Senate seat office to serve as secretary of state in the Obama administration.

The daughter of late President John Kennedy is the highest-profile candidate to seek the job.

Heck, why not send Chelsea Clinton to the Senate? Too young you say? When did eligibility become a bar to office for Democrats?

So disgusting. That woman has never shown up to earn a paycheck in her life. It is cronyism at its worst.

Yep, Sara Palin was underqualified to be anything but this trust fund princess is eminently qualified. What a joke.

Uh-oh! If Harry Reid is behind her, then we KNOW she’s not a good choice!

For crying out loud, why another Kennedy? Why, why, why??? I’d rather have Fran Drescher in the Senate than another Kennedy (not that I support her either).

I think we could all agree on something: No more Kennedys, no more Clintons and no more Bushes.

[Senate Leader "Dingy" Harry]Reid says Kennedy 'wonderful' choice for Senate...but then, Harry also said that we had lost the Iraqi war two years ago, that D.C. tourists smell, and that the stock market would plunge the day after the auto bailout was shot down - so why waste tme listening to anythng he says......

The only reason Reid would be for her is that he thinks he can control her or she will go along with any BS that he vomits forth.

“The daughter of late President John Kennedy is the highest-profile candidate to seek the job.”

Higher profile than Andrew Cuomo? She hasn’t done anything since she left the White House - and that was forty five years ago.

I suspect that she’s toying with the idea of running for president in a few years. She’s only 51, and she could conceivably be thinking of running for the presidency before she’s 60.
