Alaska fought for years to become a State - AAMOF we are celebrating or 50th Anniversary of Statehood. Some would argue we are still treated like a Federal Colony, with little to say in land use, wildlife, etc, etc.
I would invite all FReepers to come up and help us celebrate - and spend lots of money, we need all the help we can get....

Everyone in your community is Aunt Bee and Andy Griffith and you have no parents in your community who are bad influences?

What this lady does is no reflection on Sarah. That would be akin to saying that, because your father-in-law has speeding tickets, your father must be a bad driver.
Well hell, I've had it. I've got family members who have been busted for DUI, reckless driving, and moonshining. I must be the scum of the earth....

Albert ‘the Bore’ Gore's kid can get caught with mary jane (drunk driving as well IIRC) and nary a peep from the media, but Palin’s kids fiance's parent gets busted......

2009 is our 50th year of statehood. There are plenty of us who will not be “celebrating” that.

"Oddly, while drug use is a major problem, it pales to the problems caused by alcohol abuse."This has always been the case. I used to be on the Mental Health Board in Valdez, and the major problem we dealt with was alcoholism. At one point, I believe the statistics went something like this: "Roughly speaking, ten percent of people in the United States who drink are alcoholics. In Alaska, ten percent of the population is alcoholic." Talk about scary.

Good point. Mine is only 10, but I have those teen years fast approaching and in many ways I’m not looking forward to them.
OTOH, this could have been worse, it could have involved smoking cigarettes in a no-smoking-by-order-of-government-formerly private-now-public place (just kidding with you)

Gee, I wonder if Sarah's trash collector/meter reader/cable provider/whoever, gets nailed for DUI, a speeding ticket or jaywalking, it will make the front pages of all the far left, corrupt, Lame Stream Media rags and LINK her to anyone of these people.

I’m shocked Sarah Palin’s name wasn’t mentioned in the Headline!

Why leave it out. The woman's son is the father of Palin's daughters child. Yes, for you and me, it wouldn't be newsworthy. But for a politician, it's considered news. Using your standard, Billy Carter and Roger Clinton should have never have been news stories.
This lady was Igloo Trash and could have been our Vice Presidents daughters mother in law.

From an earlier Huffington Post interview with Johnston.
“Johnston said her son and Palin’s daughter had planned to wed before they found out about the pregnancy. As for being in the spotlight, Johnston told the Huffington Post, “This is out of my league... I’m just a country gal and I want to keep it that way.”

The MSM never stopped snooping in Alaska. They know Barracuda is a threat to the Syndicate Crime Boss in 2012 and they’ll try to break every bad story about “her” they can between now and then. The worse things get for Hussane Bama the more they’ll try to dredge something up on Sarah. Every person in the public eye could be embarrassed if the MSM wanted to dig up stuff on family members and in-laws——they just chosen to persecute Sarah because they’re threatened by her and her growing supporters.

‘When there’s lots of meth labs around, how is the smell going to lead anybody to a specific location? ‘
Define ‘lots’.
Its not like there is one on every street corner. Its noticable, if you’ve ever seen one, or been near someplace that has one up and running.
Like the smell of a paper mill, or a dead human, you don’t miss it, nor do you forget it once you’ve ‘been there’.

"I wonder if Alaska is rethinking about why they joined the USofA?
I don't recall they had a choice. We bought them fair and square."Actually, when purchased from Russia, Alaska was a Territory, and remained so until 1959, when it achieved statehood. We are celebrating our 50th birthday as a state in 2009.
