Residents of Negev communities awoken by renewed rocket fire this morning as Palestinian groups launch four Qassams from northern Gaza towards Israel. No injuries or damage reported. Gaza sources report several casualties in IDF strike short time later

Residents of Israel’s Gaza-vicinity communities awoke to the sound of rockets landing near their homes on Saturday morning. In all four Qassam rockets were fired by Palestinian groups towards the western Negev: Two of the rockets landed in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council, one landed in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council and the fourth landed just north of Gaza.

There were no reports of injury or damage. Since the expiration of the lull between Israel and the armed groups in Hamas-ruled Gaza there have been 9 rockets fired.

Quassams are glorified bottle rockets, launched from a try. They lack any kind of guidance and are really rockets, not missiles.

What is more of a concern is their 4.2 inch bigger brothers (Katyusha derivatives) which are factory made, much more reliable, with much longer range. These are the ones that can reach up to Ashkelon, the nearest city, and do some real damage.

Imagine what the inventive Jews could do with an F-14.

Not much really. Even when it tried to be a "Bombcat" it could not escape its basic design as an air superiority fighter where the motto was "not a pound ofr air to ground" The IAF could use A-10s more that F-14s. The F-16Is were an OK compromise at best, the JSFs will be much closer to the right thing.

I say bulldoze a city block for every rocket... and give the IDF a large number of our A-10’s ..

It would be a good idea to give them technical assistance in converting an old El Al B707/757/737 into an air refuel tanker ,, maybe sell them some booms...

What exactly would you call a “decisive” victory against Gaza? One that would ensure they will never again raise a hand against Israel. Not a rhetorical question, I want to know what such a victory would entail and how it can be achieved.

It would have to be "medieval"--scorched earth or total population transfer. Difficult for the somewhat ethical Israelis, and impossible with the world looking over their shoulders.

The Arabs had no problem with this during their ascendancy. Neither have many other countries, including the Chinese and the Russians. I find it revolting, but I don't know what else would work.

We sold old Shermans to the IDF back in the 60s and they upgraded them into real Russian tank killers.

Right. The armor museum, just about 20 min drive down from Jerusalem, is packed and packed with examples of what can and can't be be done, but got done nonetheless.
