You said — “lol, some people have no sense of humor. Im no idea of how deep or how long this cooling period is going to be and neither do you. Certainly things could get colder then the last Little Ice Age, absolutely no reason to think that is the coldest things can get.”
Well, I remember it being a lot colder, overall, in the late 60s and 70s. Where I worked for a while, the manager of the place told me that he remembered it even being colder, generally, when he was a kid, when the Willamette River (in Portland, OR) froze over hard enough for cars to drive across it. That never happens now or in the last 50 years...
So, it could get a lot colder — but even if it does, it still has a long ways to go before it’s as cold as it was, at times, a hundred years ago...
However, it does appear that the sunspots do have something to do with it. So, watch the sunspots for a prediction of what’s going to happen with the weather over the long term...
LOL Those folks should winter in Vermont or Wisconsin. Merry Christmas DiW!
Merry Christmas to you and yours, as well!
Yes Ma'am, it is.
'sigh'
This is what passes for logical policy here in The People's Republic of Washington.
Washington almost always has snow on the far east side of the state. Spokane, Colville, etc. I think what is different is the whole state is blanketed with snow which is rare.
Yeah, the last thing you want to do is have salt leech down into salt water./SAR What a bunch of dumbos we have running the country!
What happened now? Did some usurper install another manger scene?
Where's that recall petition?
We used to use stud tires here in CA but they outlawed them, for everyone except the LEOs of course they can use them because somehow their tires don't harm the highway the way civilians stud tires do. Liberals keeping the elite elite, since 1933.
And just North of Us in the Canuck Islands off shore we got hit good
The earth shook at 11:45 pm a 6.+ er.
Stay warm stay safe...I am in negioations for a 2nd rig to live in our snow to July conditions...and yes I am a salty girl 20 yrs here in the PNW but the last 3 ;years have been like Alaska.
If this Ice Age lasts more than a couple of centuries, I’m
going to invest in a better set of tire chains!
Its not Puget Sound they worry about so much as it is the salmon spawning streams all around here.
Snow is not usual in Seattle and the Eastside, so naturally
theres little municipal budget for it. 1500 ft ASL and above
snow is a usual accompanyment to winter.
Too bad the Home Depot here doesn’t stock snowblowers..
Ahem...the new catch phrase for liberals is 'climate change'. Kinda like the 'heads I win, tails you lose' CYA mentality of the illogical and delusional deniers of reality.
That makes a bit more sense I suppose, but I remain perplexed as to their rationale for a similar attitude toward putting sand on the roads as well. I haven't seen justifications for these policies in the press other than merely statements from officials that they aren't doing it 'for environmental reasons' without any context. It's naturally going to invite derision when they institute policies that differ substantially from what's being successfully done in other areas of the country and refuse to explain it coherently.
Thanks for providing the information that much of the press and the "Government" refuses to.
I have lived in the Tri-Cities, Pasco, Kennewick, Richland most of my life,(thats a long time) and except for maybe the last 15 years, the amount of snow we have here now was what we could expect every winter. Spokane and Colville area would get a lot more.
i am in Poulsbo and I don’t know how much snow we have had but it has probably snowed a couple of feet over the last week.
At least our power did not go out. The reason for this is I changed the oil in my generator and filled with fresh gas and was well prepared. The power usually goes out and have to dig out the generator from under the pile of other stuff in my shed.
Hope all is well with everyone.
I think he meant the east side of the Seattle Metro area, not eastern wa. you probably know that though
