Repeal the 17th amendment.
And the 16th, too.

Congressman Serrano & The New Quarter - Talking Peceta here

by Julio Pabon on December 18, 2008

Congressman José E. Serrano

Representing the Sixteenth District of New York

PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release: December 16, 2008

CONTACT: Philip Schmidt, (202) 225-4361

Serrano Applauds Quarter Design Choices for Puerto Rico, DC and the Territories

December 16, 2008 – The Bronx, NY– Today, Congressman José E. Serrano received the final design choices for the quarters representing Puerto Rico, DC, and the other territories and applauded all those involved in bringing this to fruition. Serrano had directed the Treasury Department to issue this set of representative quarters in the annual appropriations bill that he writes.

“I think the symbols, text and images that each of these territories selected are great. These quarters, when they begin circulating next year, will show the people of the 50 states that there are more Americans out there and they merit inclusion at every turn,” Serrano said. “The success of this program has exceeded what I imagined when I included the directive to the Treasury Department in my annual bill. In selecting what they wanted on their quarter, each of these jurisdictions clearly spent time thinking about what they wanted all Americans to understand about them. In that process, I’m sure they further examined who they are, and how they relate to the rest of the nation.

“In coming months, I foresee a child, who has a quarter with a territorial design on it, asking a parent or teacher to explain the relationship of that place to the U.S. In this small way, we will be teaching that there are more Americans than just those who live in the 50 states, and that all deserve respect and equality. The power of this small lesson cannot be understated.

“I applaud all those involved in making this program a reality, and look forward to completing my “territorial quarters” set.”

Respect? Why do libs always look for respect from others? Such a bizarre mind set. This man is a joke, he's plays the race card at every turn. He looks for esteem and validation from other men. Pathetic.

I have been posting that Zer0 might become FDRII re his terms in office.

My Mother’s worst fear when the Clintoons were elected in 1992, that the serial pervert would run for multiple terms because of his young age. The Monica stains took care of that.

Zer0 might try to make the economic troubles into 3rd and 4th terms.

should limit it to just one term

After the Civil War, there was talk of doing just that. The Confederacy has a single six-year term for its Presidents. President Harrison thought it was a good idea but unfortunately it went nowhere.

A single six-year term would put a stop to the endless campaigns too.

Hugo Chavez must be smiling. This is the exact tactic he used. Come to think of it, this isn’t too far from Hitler’s rise to dictatorship either.

I was watching History Channel the other day, and they had a program on Hitlers rise to power. I've seen and read numerous things in the past, but this program, though not spouting anything new, really made it clear how similar Obamas rise has been with Hitlers.

I remember all the Bush/Hitler analogies made, and would laugh, because of the idiocy. Realizing these fools had no idea what they were talking about.

But now, its right before our eyes, and they can't/won't see it.

Yep, not much different than 1930's Germany.

Except BO doesn't desire the US to be the great nation. His goal is to break us apart. To be no better than any other country. To be at parity with all other nations. Nations like The Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Kenya. To live no better than Obama's brother. Not BO himself mind you, just the rest of us.

What a tool.

Fasten your seatbelts folks. It is going to be a long, bumpy, downhill ride.

I agree it will be a long ride.
It will a bumpy ride. (real bumpy)
And it will be a downhill ride.

But it won't be a long, bumpy, downhill ride. The downhill part will be relatively short. The long part is mainly going to be spent at the bottom of the $#!t #0Le.

I would also propose term limits for Senators and Representatives - end the perpetual lordships.

I think we desperately need this. Extend it state law makers and big city mayors too. It would go a long way in dealing with the corruption at all levels of gov't. But you know it will never happen. I couldn't see Daley signing himself out of office and look at Blago.

All I ask is that if anyone lives in this a-holes district, please do what ever you can to make sure he does not get re-elected. It is people like Serrano that are working hard to destroy this country!

What seatbelts? Near as I can tell, we’re all in for a freefall.

I’d really love to get my hands around the throats of the “supposedly conservative” idiots that were spewing here back in October, 2006, about how the Republican Party didn’t deserve to win and that they should just not vote to teach them a lesson.

The only hard lesson is about to be taught to all of us that already knew better!
