I agree with your thinking and have also mentioned that inasmuch as this maggot is so like minded with Chavez, it would be like him to figure some way to be President For Life. This cannot happen.

How about instead of amending the constitution we just obey it for a few decades?

Maybe your warnings would generate more concern if we hadn’t heard similar musings around and about every election of every President since this site was founded. All BS. Period. And, worse yet is these ridiculous thoughts take away from the genuine concern we should have about what is actually happening. It doesn’t take the same person in office for excess time to destroy the US.

There is no ‘probably have now’, it exists now with certainty.

There is a permanent class of Congressional and Executive hacks, and their revolving door lobbyist counterparts that control a large percentage of all policy. regulations, amendments and associated details and interpretations.

When a bill is introduced in Congress by an elected member or by the President’s people, the bill is edited, amended, reinterpreted, reworded to the point that often the original intent is hardly recognized by the originators. Most of such changes are made by permanent staff with inputs from lobbyists who represent special interests.

Democracy is not stable. The Founders knew that democracies were unstable and so they gave us a democratic republic.

We are not a democracy.

We are a democratic republic.

If we were a democracy then Obama could have a referendum on presidential term limits where ACORN and other surrogates could help have him voted President for life.

The Constitutional Amendment Process requires that 2/3s of Congress vote for an amendment (the democratic part) and that 3/4 of states ratify the amendment (the republic part).

The Founders were wise beyond anything we could wish for. We are truly blessed with their wisdom even today.

I posted a similar thought on a Rush thread. In my scenario the Dems would wait until about 2014 to make their move. Sheesh, he’s not even President and the move has started. In my scenario I thought that ACORN would be busy electing friendly state Senators and Assemblymen. However, ACORN is planning to elect Democrat friendly Secretaries of States. In any event, it doesn’t surprise me.

Obama needs only to pack the Federal Judiciary with lackeys and any thought that he will be limited by term limits will be tossed out with laughter.

I think we are halfway cooked already and have no strength to even jump out of the pot, much less do anything else.

Maybe we shouldn't have had that last BBQ sandwich .... or the side of seasoned curly-fries .....

Too many years of good living will ruin a people faster than just about anything.

If you get a chance, read the book “Secret State.” I believe it was published around 1945.

It explained daily life under Nazi-occupied Poland, and how the resistance set up a “secret” state that operated and flowed under the totalitarian regime. The “Secret State” undermined Nazi rule at every turn and event. It set up a ruling government and economy to maintain the cohesion of Polish values and everyday life.

It’s quite surprising what can be accomplished by freedom-loving people under even the most difficult circumstances.

This is not to say that we need to establish an underground now; we are no where near that point.

I’d much prefer seeing conservatives aim their energy toward maintaining their own backyards by taking back their own local governments. Too few conservatives show interest in local government, and that’s the first step in taking back America from the leftists.

In the 60’s Guatamala was being overturned about every 6 weeks.

I think Bolivia retired the land speed record for overturning governments a long time ago. From independence in 1824 down to about 1968, Bolivia averaged one new revolutionary, elected, juntist, or plain old golpe de estado government every 18 months.

I suspect the repeal of Presidential term limits has been floated before?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they passed it Obama got thrown out of office and we got a true conservative in office and then they couldn’t do a thing about it?

They purposely misled the people of New York into thinking that it would mean Guiliani could come back and be mayor again with this. He can’t it applies only to current officeholders.

I have been basically saying the same thing. I hope I am wrong, but this election was so wrong and out of place. People said we could not get attacked either and look what happened.

With the economy in the shape that it is and other factors this country is ripe for something like this to happen. They are looking for a savior and they found it in Obama.

Good Lord I can’t even imagine what else the Dims will propose over the next four years.

Everything they do will be focused toward maximizing their power, eliminating that pesky "fair election" thing, and separating us from our wealth, property, and rights.

Massive perpetual indoctrination, expect it.

Oh, and this was unlikely Mr. Serrano's idea.

I suspect he is following instructions that go all the way back to Secretary (elect) Ayers.
