Years ago when I was living in La-La Land I was driving down Sunset Blvd. late one night. I came to a red light and looked over to my right. There was Ricardo Montalban and a woman whom I assumed was his wife. Your humble correspondent started gesturing furiously for Montalban to roll down his window. At first he was reluctant and tried to look the other way but I made it seem like him rolling down his window was the most important thing in the world. When he finally lowered his window I yelled out: “RRRRRICH CORRRRRINTHIAN LEATHER!!!” with the proper accent. Montalban looked at me with bemusement mixed with absolute disgust. Interesting memory.

“Who’s gonna be the third? “

I thought the third was Tom Cruise’s career.

It seems Montablan was also a conservative. According to the Corner, he was a friend and subscriber of National Review.

Ricardo was very good friends with Dom DeLuis. I have Dom's cookbook and he talks about all the get together at Ricardo's house how he loved Ricardo's wife's Tortilla Soup.

No doubt.. rumor has it that Ricardo was a great cook also, but rarely showed it off.

...those King Khan pecs made the ladies swoon in both the TSO "Star Trek" and 25 years later in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.

I'm pretty sure Ricardo wore a false chest in the second Trek feature film. His physique years earlier in Space Seed was not a creation of the props and makeup department, though.

I was just thinking of him earlier today - that scene in TOS where his anger flared up and he shouted: "We offered the world ORDER!..." I always think of that scene when I read articles about the globalists and their relentless agenda of tearing the United States down.

Rest in peace, Mr. Montalban - you were truly a class act.

Yep, RIP. He was a joy to watch. I’m glad he lived a full life and didn’t blow his brains out a la Tattoo.

xcamel, don’t you have anything better to do than to hide in the bushes and pounce on double posts? I for one appreciate seeing this story posted this evening since I didn’t catch it the first time around.

Virginia Ridgerunner

This comment made my evening, and thank you for standing up.

Freerepublic’s search engine needs work, as I do preliminary searches before I post anything, using key words in the upper right hand corner space above, and neither the words “Ricardo” or “Montalban” brought me the first post
