President-elect Barack Obama says there can't be any "idle hands" at a time when so many people are enduring hardships.
During a visit to an emergency homeless shelter for teens in the nation's capital, Obama said that given the "crisis" the nation is facing, "everybody's going to have to pitch in." And he said Americans are "ready to do that."

I pitched in with our Nation’s military for 28 years. Where the hell were you, Barack?
I recall afer the election getting a text message “From Obama: All non-African Americans will report to the fields 6am tomorrow for training.”
Most of us in fly-over country are already volunteering in the schools and-or church and-or community things like 4-H. We also give more to charity. (Can I get an “Amen”?)
It’s the big city liberals that have to get motivated and good luck with that, Mr. Obama.
There shouldn't be idle hands when things are good - unless you are independently wealthy. The lazy and poor people in this country have finally dragged down the system to near collapse. I hope the vast majority of Obama supporters are happy. They are finally closing the gap between the wealthy and the poor - by destroying the capitalist system which will soon make the majority of people, poor.
