Obama Will Get His Blackberry

President Barack Obama is going to get his blackberry.

On Monday, a government agency that the Obama administration -- but that is probably the National Security Agency -- added to a standard blackberry a super-encryption package.... and Obama WILL be able to use it ... still for routine and personal messages.

It's not clear whether he yet has the device.

With few exceptions, government Blackberries aren't designed for encryption that protects messages above the "SECRET" status, so it's not clear whether Obama is getting something new and special. The exception: the Sectera Edge from General Dynamics, which allows for TOP SECRET voice conversations.

,trying to gather Republicans is like herding chickens

Who are all having a hen party and laying an egg over the President wanting to keep his GD blackberry fer chrissakes. I have never read such idiocy and irrelevant foolishness in all my life.

And as far as security is concerned, when he is on the move where there are security concerns Blackberrys have an OFF button. There is little issue about his unclass communications going out over open lines because White House communications for the most part go out over open lines, unless they are encrypted because they are going to someone who has a decrypt capability. Every time you call the white house on a telephone you are on an open line.

I have never read so much silly nonsense from a bunch of whining crybabies who SO deserved to lose an election in my whole life.

And it is not a special expense to hand a specially checked out blackberry to Pres Obama since such items are standard issue to 4 star generals and admirals at the Pentagon as well as political appointees and other civil servants.

Grow up, get a life, get real and if you want to reengage in politics get a goddamned purpose that anyone is going to care a fig about. Whether or not President Obama decides to have a Blackberry and read his own private emails is not one of those issues. I am about as saddened about what has happened to our country as anyone here, but Republicans LOST this election just like they LOST 2006.

How good are your powers of observance? Which one below in the real (young) Obama?

OOPS

Neither one.

they are both ilam Anas

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01/20/obama-look-alike-indonesia-tv-star/

And obama and his minions are fooling you all on most every thing just as easily.

If you listen, he has stated his real purpose for keeping his Blackberry - to run his 4th Reich - a FOURTH - and PRIVATE arm of government that will bypass the 3 legal branches of government: Judicial, Legislative and Administrative.

Listen up or grab your ankles.

from Los Angeles Times: By Peter Wallsten January 18, 2009

[if this doesn’t wake America up , nothing will]

“Obama sets up national network “to help policy agenda” he says.

“Obama said Organizing for America, the new network, would be used as a tool to press for policies on major issues, including the healthcare system, the Iraq war and the development of new energy sources. He also said the effort would be housed in a distinctly partisan place: the Democratic National Committee” “

Organizing for America, the new group… will employ a full-time staff of hundreds of professional organizers -- possibly an average of between one and two workers per congressional district in certain politically important states.

One source said that Obama aides have discussed an annual budget of $75 million -- an unprecedented standing political army that will await orders from a president. “ ****************

"used as a tool to press for policies on major issues, including the healthcare system, the Iraq war and the development of new energy sources. " ????? Isn't that what the 3 legal branches of gov't for? This sounds more like a coup. And we have no idea who's pulling the strings on the other end of the line.

In Addition, when he also implements his stated objective to form a "NATIONAL SECRUITY FORCE" - over and above the Army, Navy, Air force, Marines, Coast Guard, state’s National Guards, State Police/Troopers, County Sheriffs and city Police - "just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the military..."

Hear it in his own words:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwaAVJITx1Y

this is why he is so adamant in keeping his blackberry - which is a dangerous security breach...he needs to be able to bypass the normal channels and get directly to his politburo.

Is it to late to stop this government take over? Will we continue to ignore what he's not even made a secret of - the take over of the country? - That means YOU - wake up!

BTW, do we have our first black president or our first Indonesian president? see this thread...if you care

That would be an extremely weak passive signal, if it gives one off at all, which I seriously doubt. Quite a few of our smart munitions utilize the L1 and sometimes the L2 bandwidth for GPS aquisition to trim their inertial instruments. Using your logic, the would be very suceptible to be homed in on by defensive measures and that is simply not a concern. The only thing our GPS systems have to worry about is being jammed by blankets of energy beamed in the general vacinity at the bandwidth of the GPS band the munition is using....and there are counter measures for that.

I find it very unlikely a passive GPS system can be tracked. Sorry.

Believe as you wish, no need to apologize. If its electronic, it gives off a tell tale signal that can be tracked, specifically.

Yes, electronics give off RF energy. But you’re not going to detect it from New Jersey if it’s in Maryland. You’re going to detect it from mere feet away. If the bad guy is that close to a target, the RF signal is irrelevant anyway. A smart phone without a GPS receiver still gives of RF energy.

‘You’re going to detect it from mere feet away’

Sorry, thats incorrect. I’ve literally seen not just demonstrations of the capabilities in this area, I personally witnessed some of the stuff done during the Walker spy case from inside the facility’s he ‘attacked’ via his son and a techie back then. And that took place in 1980 or so.

We agree to disagree, no big deal.

“If its receiving, it can be tracked, triangulated exactly.

There is no other way, unless they use a repeater...and even that has its flaws.

Anything that makes ‘electronic noise’ can be found using triangulation.”

Actually it is called trilateration. The receiver only receives. It does not transmit anything. When your on-star system tells someone where you are it does it with the cellular functionality that forms part of the on-star system.

Yes, Obama’s phone gives off RF energy. Big deal...only trackable from a few feet away. Yes, any GPS receiver Obama has can locate his position. Unless he has a GPS transmitter no one else can gain that information, unless his cellular function sends out that data. That can be controlled via firm ware programming. Not a big deal.

Inside a facility is feet away.

In any event, how do you plan to characterize Zero's RF phone emissions to the point where you can discriminate between his emissions and the other thousands of devices emissions in the area?

As long as it’s switched on, every cellular device connects to the nearest cell site from time to time, so the cellular companies know where to route received messages.

Obviously, when receiving a text message the transmitter must come on to establish the connection and provide error checking.

That said, I’m sure the Secret Service would never allow Pressidential communications devices to connect directly to the cellular system. Wherever he might be, to the cell system, the Presidents communications would allways be seen as coming from and going to, wherever they have their main gateway located.

Ok. But we were GPS, then ‘electronic noise’. The agents around Zero better not have their cells on then...
