Now that they have control over House, Senate, and the Presidency, who or what is going to drive their hate?

The capitalist system? Freedom? Christianity?

If they can’t hate the government, they will hate we, the people.

“The real question is how will they act out their hatred, now that they have total power, for those with whom they disagree? “

I’ll take “What is the Fairness Doctrine?” for $200, Alex.

I believe they will try to preemptively take out any prospective 2012 GOP “Obamas”. Namely Bobby Jindal. They will try to finish off Palin as well.

They aren’t scared of Romney IMO.

Sarah Palin

Conservative Talk Radio and other comentators

Conservative Republican Senators and Representatives, what few there are (Jeff Sessions, etc.)

Conservative Christian in general, and outspoken ones in particular.

Conservative members of the Supreme Court

Flyover country / red states

plus basically anyone who points out their hypocracy.

Sarah Palin. The full court press of leftist hysteria we saw when she joined the McCain campaign has only moved to the back burner. The fire is still lit and the hate is still simmering. They’re just waiting for the afterglow of the inauguration to mellow just a bit.

The PDS will pick up where it left off on Nov. 5th. She terrifies them and they need to try to marginalize her before 2012.

But, this is a great topic. Their intolerance of anyone/anything that rocks their tiny rowboats is remarkably hypocritical since they claim to be the party of the little guy; the oppressed; the downtrodden - in fact everyone who isn’t conservative or a minority who threatens to upset their miserable little world.

Thank God, I won’t be like them - I’m a conservative!

All the weight is on their shoulders, but they will continue to blame the Right for anything that goes wrong. They will just go back to the old bogeymen- big business, the military/industrial complex, religious people, etc.

They already hate Coulter because she’s such a downer. Of course they quickly denied their hatred after it was posted on the Drudge.

When clinton was president he skillfully used the press and the FBI to channel hatred at various “right wing” targets. There was the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. There were the right wing militias whom he blamed for the OKC bombing. There were the abortion clinic bombers. There were the Christian fundamentalists.

Obama will have no trouble doing similar things, directing hatred at designated targets. We’ve all heard of “McCarthyism” or “witch-hunting.” Actually, it’s the leftists who practice that kind of operation.

Good question. Just as the Left needs someone to fulfill their deep inner sense of emptiness (a role filled in the past by JFK, Clinton, and now Obama), so, too, do they need a figure to focus their hate on, their own Goldstein. I think the latter imperative arises out of the abscence of any moral standards within Liberalism, and has included President Bush (of course), Tom Delay, President Reagan, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh to name but a few. Given that there is no leading national Conservative figure at the moment, it remains to be seen who will fill that role, though Coulter and Limbaugh remain as cherished standbys.

There's really no one left to hate that they haven't already either destroyed or marginalized to the point of insignificance.

Two things strike me as immediate unkowns.

1) Who will the late night comedians target this summer (Bush will surely still absorb their most venomous barbs until then)?

2) What will Keith Olbermann fill the remaining 59 minutes of his show with? You can only have a sycophantic love fest for Obummer for so long.

My guess is Joe Biden for number 1, and Olberdork will probably move to a psychic call in show - it should be entertaining.

That was my first thought too. I wondered whether the incident at the middle school/junior high in Green Bay was a setup to begin the process of getting him off the air.

Since furthering their nearly full control is the goal, they’ll need to marginalize and/or shut down opposing voices. Then they will move to centralizing personal information - financial, health, movement, etc.

For the time being they will continue to hate Bush so to have someone to blame for all the failures and misfires of the next four years. There will be repeated calls for Bush's arrest and trial. There will be Congressional moves to do just that but they will not be completed. Rove or Cheney might well be arrested and tried. The left has recognizers no political competitors, no loyan opposition, only rvicious enemies that must be eliminated for the good order of their envisioned society.
